Holy shit... that was, I don't even know what to say. Brock was taken down by shots to the body of all things. Gotta think that has to do with the surgeries and stuff he's gone through. I'm just trying to figure out why he was staying standing up and not going for a takedown. Gotta think he's still hurting from the diverticulitis. Completely disappointing fight.

and Brock has retired... I honestly think it's probably a good move. He was nearly killed by the diverticulitis, and it looks like it'd be a big weakness moving forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to the WWE, at least as a part-time attraction draw... there's been rumors of that happening anyway.

UFC on Fox tonight... Weidman just beat Maia in a sloppy as fuck fight. Both guys were completely gassed by the 3rd... just looked bad. I can excuse Weidman's cardio, since he took the fight on 11 days notice and had a big weight cut to make. But Maia? That was embarrassing for him, and he deserved to lose. It was split decision, but I couldn't see a round that I would've given to Maia at all.

Now we're on to Sonnen vs. Bisping.

I think I watched a completely different fight than the judges did... I had Bisping winning the fight 29-28.

Then Sonnen had to go and rip off The Rock... weaksauce. I actually think he almost word for word ripped off one of The Rock's promos.

Fun fight between Nelson and Werdum... I would've enjoyed it more if I could actually stand Werdum. He fights like a giant fucking pussy... he gets his shots in and then spends the next 2 minutes running away. Like the last fight he had with Overeem back in Strikeforce where he spent half the goddamn fight falling to his back and trying to bait him.

Heading into the 5th round of Diaz vs. Condit.... and Condit is fighting like a pussy. He's probably gonna win the fight, but he's winning it in a pussified fashion. Run run run away.

Call it fighting smart. But it looks like you're a pussy... Run run run away. Hell, Werdum actually took it to Big Country in the first more than Condit did to Diaz in five rounds.

I honestly had the fight tied going into the fifth. I thought that Diaz won the first two, while Condit had the third and fourth.

I just hate seeing someone run around for an entire fight like Condit did.

In thinking about the fight some more, I'm actually more convinced that Diaz actually won it. He had complete octagon control, had more takedowns, and had about 4 sub attempts in the final round; including one that I think Condit just barely got out of. Condit landed more strikes, but that's simply because he got shots in as he was running away like a scared little girl. He completely changed his fighting style in order to run away from Diaz, rather than to stand toe to toe and go to war. Apparently all you need to do to win a belt is dance around a lot and land more punches... and nothing else really matters. Diaz took 1-2, Condit took 3-4, and I don't know how you give 5 to anyone but Diaz with the takedown and ground control. Dana said he had the same thing for the first four rounds, but that Condit took the fifth... though I obviously can't come up with how he came to that conclusion about the fifth.

I'd love to see a rematch between these guys before the unification bout with GSP... especially since it doesn't look like GSP is going to be in fighting shape until mid to late fall. Put these guys against each other in UFC 147/148 (should be June), and then a unification bout in November.

Now it's on to UFC 144... where I'm actually more interested in Rampage vs. Bader than I am the Lightweight Championship match. A Rampage victory could set him up to face the winner of Jones/Evans fight.

Condit did enough to get the decision IMO. Diaz just wasn't able to adjust when his usual gameplan wasn't working out for him, if Diaz made some adjustments he could definitely take a rematch. I'm not too interested in Bader Vs Rampage, I'm far more interested in Akiyama Vs Shields.

I think it was a close fight... but I thought the control that Diaz had, especially in the fifth, should have given the fight to him. But, that all being said... he should get a rematch, there's plenty of time before GSP will be ready.

As far as 144 goes, I had forgotten about the Akiyama/Shields fight... that should be really, really good.

If you look at the stats Condit outlanded Diaz by a wide margin, Condit was moving backwords but he was landing good kicks all night, effective striking takes precedence over octagon control IMO.

Looking forward to the Japan card as well. Bader Vs Rampage should be a good brawl, and Edgar Vs Henderson will be a great fight too. I really think they screwed up when they booked this card though, the Japanese don't care about guys like Edgar and Henderson, they should have put Lesnar Vs Overeem on this card, the Japanese fans go nuts for fights like that.
