The real question for me would be, why did it take so long for charges to be laid?

I'm not interested in who did what to whom, but for there to be any value to human life, I believe that the right to bear arms needs to be counterbalanced with the responsibility of defending your actions in a court of law if you kill another person.

It'll be a rerun of OJ.
Possibly..but I do expect results with her though..I am curious as to how they wrote up the complaint..as to figure out how they charged him with 2nd degree murder.
They have to be claiming he was committing a crime by following the boy somehow

I'm thinking that the crime will be the interaction itself. They are going to say that the use of lethal force as self defense was unnecessary in this instance ...

Just my guess...

Seems more appropriate for man slaughter...fight turns deadly
I know of two people it has happened to

One case...The other guy was all in his face poking on his chest say come on come on...So he hit him
He went down..head hit the concrete he died a couple weeks...He did time for manslaughter.

The other one was fight ..the balcony was about 8 or 9 feet high...They grabbed each other ended up going through the railing..one died as a result of hitting the ground...The other did time..In this case the man that did time was not the aggressor either..and was merely holding the guy in a head lock asking the give it up..he could have easily been pounding his face but wasnt..the guy was being rather cool actually.

With this zimmerman if they can show he "participated" in a fight he has troubles IMO

I hate to see the guy do life...but he does need some kind of punishment for being stupid and knowingly going into a situation armed that could have been avoided..that technically had nothing to do with anyone else...In other words he was breaking up a fight..nor going to see if someone was lurking his garage...but followed a suspicious guy {and by suspicious this raises his knowledge that it could get nasty}
Not sure what the prosecutors angle will be on this..but he is screwed if he cant afford proper defense..prolly still is anyway

After reading retros link..it appears as if the mother has calmed down alot

Trayvon Martin's parents expressed relief over the special prosecutor's decision to charge Zimmerman. Martin's mother said if she could speak directly to Zimmerman, she would allow him a chance to say he is sorry for what happened.

"I would probably give him an opportunity to apologize," Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, told The Associated Press in an interview. "I would probably ask him if there were another way that he could have settled the confrontation that he had with Trayvon, other than the way it ended, with Trayvon being shot."

Sounds like she is merely saying..."you didnt have to shoot him did you"

This is far from you chased down my boy and shot him...she knows there was a fight now anyway

That's what I would have thought but I guess it has something to do with a firearm being involved in the State of Florida.
Very possible..perhaps something to do with concealment laws and regulations with proper behavior
