Martha was my least favourite companion. Too whiny. And it was unfair on her I know, because the Doctor had no idea how she felt, or perhaps didn't want to know, and so he was never very tactful about her role in his life, but I just didn't like the whole unrequited love thing straight after him and Rose.

Catherine Tate was my favourite. Only companion who didn't want to fuck the Doctor. I might think she's crazy :p but it was refreshing.

Yes I agree. For the same reasons.

And talking about companions....

New assistant has been relevealed!! Jenna-Louise Coleman! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17456505

I've never watched any of her shows before so have no idea what she's like. Thought she was Cheryl Cole when I first saw that picture on the link :s

And they are doing the annoying thing of splitting the series again. BOOO.

I've no sound on my work computer but I watched it anyway!

Ah. Excitement. Matt Smith sure loves his cowboy hats, but they kinda suit him so I don't really mind.

Not disgusted with the new companion either, which is nice :) I'm hoping they don't go for yet another companion-in-love-with-the-Doctor storyline though, obviously he'd be my first choice too, but it's getting a bit tedious. Rose, Martha, Amy to a degree.... this is why I loved Donna so much, she was his friend rather than mooning over him.

Yes I want a companion who is a friend and really want to travel and get into scrapes. Not someone going along because they fancy the Doctor.

This is why I'd quite like a regular male companion, not one that's tagging along because his girlfriend is all over the Doctor like Mickey and Rory. I know having a female opposite a male is probably good for I don't know, equality or varied storylines or something, but I'd love to see the Doctor bounce off someone who genuinely has no interest in him at all, like it's not even a question they have to address.

I mean for god's sake, even Captain Jack had a mild thing for the Doctor

I was nearly named Tegan after the Dr Who assistant! It's what my mum wanted but my dad wanted to name me after Kate Bush and in the end he won.

My daughter gets confused every single time the Doctor regenerates. Then a few episodes into the new series, she'll accepts the new Doctor and the previous one is just refered to as "the old Doctor"

This is probably old news, but I only just found out Matt Smith is single again.

He'd have no use for the words 'it's bigger on the inside' if we hooked up, IJS :ninja
