Sin is a terrible thing especially if it is against a holy God. The punishment for that is very great.
Just like taking candy from a jar is not so severe as killing a man.
The reason why man doesn't understand this great punishment is because they do not understand holiness and purity.
Diseases came into this world because of mans rebellion. We all suffer for the mistake of one man, Adam, but through this other Man Jesus you can be set free from slavery to sin. It is up to you to make a choice.
People will however, even if they know punishment is coming, still not subdue to God. Just as Jesus spoke in Matthew 7:13-14
Yes I would say it was a bad thing. What a responsible father would do is move the hot water out of the child's reach.....but that's not your gods way is it? Your god's way is to deliberately 'create' beings that are weak and prone to temptation, then place temptation in their way, then punish them for eternity for doing something that, due to their design fault that he deliberately planned, they can't avoid doing anyway.......and you think that kind of behaviour is worthy of worship!!
God has protection from His just judgement. It is called salvation. And if you will not turn from your sinful ways you will not be able to make that payment.

I don't quite understand how god, even if he did create us, is worthy worship at all. Creation is easy for him and it was for a selfish purpose.
What if he is not there when the child reaches again for the hot water? Then the child will remember the pain from the slap and not touch the pot of boiling water.
God made man perfect, not weak. Man became weak because of his rebellion. And God in His infinite love made a way through Christ to restore that loving relationship.
Leaving hot water where a child can reach it then leaving is incredibly irresponsible.
That's not answering my question. Dont beat around the bush. Tell me what my nans did that was so terrible that it was an act of love to punish them by making cancer eat away their body till they died?

Even christians die of cancer. We are not exemt of pain, evil and suffering, we also live in a fallen world. I am sorry for your nan but we all deserve to die, the pain we endure now will be nothing compared to the pain in eternity.
I understand a bit of the holiness of God because He saved me and gave revelation. He does that to thousands in these last times.

Your implication is that the father is there at the time and slaps the child when the child is attempting to reach the boiling water. Don't move the goal posts just because you have no argument against the rebuttal.....and Gillibean make a valid point when she said that leaving a pot of boiling water in reach of a child when you are not there is mind-bogglingly irresponsible.
Do you subscribe to the claim that your god is omniscient? If so, please explain why your god, knowing that his 'creation would fail (due to his omniscience), would create it anyway? If you subscribe to an omnimax deity that you have no choice other than to accept that Adam did exactly what your god planned him to do.

That's essentially what I think.
You don't become a christian and then not become a christian. Once you are connected to a holy and loving God you never want to leave Him. You will cling to Him and beg for more knowlegde of this wonderfull Creator. That was why man was created, to know his Creator.
