[*]A female child victim is 7 times more likely to be re-victimized as an adult (8).

I doubted many of the stats...but the one listed clearly sticks out.
Now why would a female child that was raped be 7 times more likely to be raped when she was an adult

All the stats are highly suspects now IMO...just something that someone assembled..although the source seems legit..the stats are just to crazy to be of any value.

It just goes to re enforce what I have stated many posts back..its merely just character attacks on the rapist to aid in the trial...and to elevate the amount of rapes that occur to leave the impression :that he has more than likely raped 17 we dont know about.

I am not saying that some of what they say is not true....but is way overplayed

And no I am not defending rapists /nor saying that a woman who dresses scantly had it coming.

What I am saying is a scantly dressed woman is more likely to be dressed than a non scantly dressed woman
It does matter if non scantly dressed woman are also raped as an argument.

I would be interested is some hard facts on just how much of a difference it does make...That way we could honestly say...hey babe you may want to dress a little more conservative going out there tonight or you will increase your chances of getting attacked by some fruitcake by xx percent.

@Tasha
Hey, I didn't write the statistics, I just found them. The site seems legit... just because the statistic seems scary doesn't mean it cannot be true. Unless there is someone who has done the research and compiled the facts themselves these sites and statistics are our best bet. :dunno

@The Man
If you consider that most rapes are committed by persons the victim knows well it is not that surprising that a pattern established when the victim was a child will continue on even when she becomes and adult. And usually there IS a pattern, cause honestly, if he gets away with it the first time (and lets face it, mostly he does) why wouldn't he do it a 2nd, 3d... 10th time? Everything gets easier the more you do it.

Seriously? After being in this thread and actively engaging in the debate (so you MUST have been using SOME small percentage of your brain cells) THAT'S the respond you come up with to that picture? That her hair is too red and she looks like a boy? SERIOUSLY?

Lose your happy pills?

Did I sound serious?
You ask..but then go to assume?
Then try to insult me.....LOL

Then you go on to use boy...when I had stated gay guy...so by using your own extended logic...she looked like a boy to you anyway.

That's a matter of perspective.

Oh and hun, do be careful. According to the pictures you post of yourself on here you wear a lot of plaid shirts... be careful, one might confuse you with a gay lumberjack. And yes, that too is a matter of perspective. ;)

You have to realize that making a joke about a rape victim, in a thread about rape, that is titled "she was asking for it" isn't a very smart thing to do. Are you REALLY surprised you got a negative response? Honestly?

I didnt say she asked for it,,I merely stated she looked liked a gay guy..which she does IMO
I sure the heck wouldnt go around holding a sign in public saying I was raped and commenting on my own looks{essentially making fun of her own looks} while doing it

She wasn't commenting on her looks. She was making a statement that she wasn't raped because of the clothing she was wearing.

Your opinion and you are entitled to it. But you do need to show a little tact.
To me, she looks underage.

And I think you are misunderstanding what she is trying to do - namely that no matter how you look or how you dress you can become a victim of rape and that the "she was asking for it" mentality is wrong.
