I thought alot of religions had changed their minds on the Adam and Eve story and put it down to metaphor as it is so ridiculous?
The US is still pretty fundamental, compared to Europe

lol...how do you think women feel?...lol the pain of childbirth and our monthy visitor is a constant reminder of Eve's choice on that faithful day in question. Go figure.
It's a common perception of theists that those who question, hate God and his followers. I don't hate God and don't despise you. :smiley31:

I have no common perception of those who question God. There is a big difference between those who have questions, are seeking knowledge and understanding - and those who make absurd assumptions about that which they do not understand. I'm not just referring to non-believers, some people who consider themself a believer can be pretty absurd as well. And not all non-believers act rediculously when approaching the topic of God. It can be misinterpreted as negative...I know that hate is a strong word, but there are many times when people on both sides of the fence feel that way. That they are looked down upon by the other side or that just because their views and beliefs are different, somehow they are inferior or believers in magic and fairytales.
Thanks for the hug, but... Don't you know...hugs have no place in the debate thread - compassion, gentleness and respect are left at the door! :sarcasm
That's ok. Don't use the brain you have, just let God or your religion tell you what to think and do. God does not like independent thinkers. Instead of evaluating for yourself, just be a good little rule follower because that is what impresses God the most. Oh yes, don't decide your morals, they impose those on you too.
I question everything.
What's with the personal stuff, cant think of anything, that's ok.

So the pain of child birth and monthly menstrual cycles wouldn't happen if it wasn't for the fact that eve sinned?
So I guess this "curse" was also passed onto all animals then... because all mammals have menstrual cycles and painful births...
I love you, SexySadie, even when your facts may be inaccurate.
Oh, that part, too. Are you saying that I make mistakes?? Shame on you!!! :24::24:I love you too Alexis.........even when your facts about my facts may be inaccurate...lol

i agree. Being skeptical is good. My faith in God is something different then believing in a threory or believing someone is guilty after seeing all the evidence. Faith in God is almost part of us/me. I have often wondered if we arent born with it.
I resist traditional theist teachings because of my conviction that ancient superstitious man is a very poor source for divine truth. I don't believe people in the time of Jesus or Mohammad had any better connection to God than we do today.
