Because He forced Adam and Eve to take responsibility for their choices? Choices....meaning they had a choice.

He forced Adam and Eve to take responsibility? Are you kidding me? He punished every man, woman, child, and animal that ever lived.
He would be responsible for every child who ever died during childbirth.

Absolutely sadistic to even believe this myth of a story is true...

I'm not kidding you, why would I? You use words like sadistic to insult me and my beliefs, I use the words like ignorant to insult you and yours............are we even now or would you like to continue?

Sadie, sometimes I think you would defend God even if he raped your daughter. Is there anything God could do that you wouldn't approve of?

Yes.

I've never said for a minute that trusting in God was always easy, sometimes it's very difficult, sometimes........next to impossible. My faith is always being tested. I've gone through many changes in my life and like most people, I've had to deal with loss. I won't go into details but let me just tell you that He helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. I was a mess....His love was my miracle because I never thought I'd ever be able to go on the way that I have...but here I am.

Sorry Sadie, but God overreacted, in no way did he act like a responsible parent would or should. I'm willing to bet the story is a myth created by man to explain our existence on this planet and to especially blame women, in man's continuing efforts to keep them in "their place". ;)

This is a real good example of not questioning God because it is God, because it came out of a holy book regardless if it makes sense or seems reasonable to us or not. I hope that if this example was of a parent disciplining his/her child you would think the punishment was excessive. Remember God can do anything. If it was that important it could have wiped the knowledge they gained from the fruit, giving them an appropriate punishment, and given them another chance before punishing all of mankind for eternity. Oops I forgot, we can't question what God thinks is appropriate... What is espeically a weak argument is proposing that woman must suffer childbirth due to Eve's sin, and somehow her actions have bled over to all mammals were females give birth.

IMO, this is the kind of lunacy that makes religion lose it's credibility, but you've swallowed it all, hook, line, and sinker. Be my guest and feel comforted by the great God that keeps you under his thumb. :)

1 hour later- After considering, if it was all Eve's fault, why don't we follow God's example and punish women for eternity? Let's take away their right to vote, drive cars, unable to own property, and make them wear blankets with eye slits. How about it? Would'nt we be following in God's footsteps? :p

Happy 4th! I'm working. :(

I believe He HAS punished women for eternity.....at least in this world.....but I think we just went over all of that. Thank you for your permission to feel comforted by my faith in God.....but it really wasn't necessary.

PS...under His thumb isn't such a terrible thing compared to the alternative. (sorry you had to work);)

Gotta love GoddessWorship. We have the power.:ninja But know how to share.:cool

No wonder 'The Church' found the need to kill the 'witches'..... Uppity bitches didn't know their place.:24:

Subservient to a man? I think not. :24::fing27

No wonder they maligned Mary Magdalene as a common whore.

Now they cover up for their Priests that have appetites for unconventional tender fare.... :mad

Oh the folly of powerful men of 'God'.... So what Jesus preached.:sarcasm

But we're all individuals with free will so why punish all women for something one woman (apparently) did years and years ago? That doesn't seem very fair or just.

It's not justice by any human standard. Now I'm waiting for Sadie to claim God knows best. Unfortunately we can't function based on an imagined diety's morality. If this was the case, we would be using God's example, like they do in the Middle East and keep women's necks under our male boots. There would certainly be advantages (for males). But we don't and in this world we must make judgements based on our morality, not what we imagine a deity's to be, especially when it makes no sense to us.

I like to add disclaimers as usual. If there is an all wise and powerful deity, I believe man's imagination has done it an injustice and of course it just sits there up in the heavens and does nothing to dispute our mistakes at least not in this plane of existence. Maybe it does not care what the hell we think or do? ;)
