Faith is something I believe in without physical evidence or scientific data. Either would destory my faith.
You say this a lot, but physical evidence should logically only strengthen faith...
Say you have faith the sun will rise every day and it does tomorrow, it would strengthen your faith that the premise is true.
It sounds like you're implying you wouldn't believe in god anymore if it showed itself to the world...
So there is no evidence or anything to lead me to that conclusion other than what is in your head? Pardon me for being a rational thinker but you're not convincing me on that basis, to put it mildly.
No, I would not have "faith" in God, big difference. I beleive the sun is the center of the solar system due to man's understanding of the physical universe. I have faith in God, sans physical evidence. Science is based on physical evidence, faith isnt. If suddenly I have scientific evidence God existed, I would no longer have or need faith, He would just be another scientific fact.
I am not here to convience you, I am explaining my faith in God.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to critisise your faith, I'm just trying to undersand it but I find that very hard. From what you're said, your faith comes from no where or no thought process whatsover.
I don't mean faith the god existed, but faith it had a plan for you and all of the things Christians believe about god.
not true. I have faith in God because I was raised in the Chruch, have spent years thinking it over, even drifted away for many years, and came back. Course what I beleive and how I practice my faith now is light years differnt. I have faith in God for many reasons. I dont believe we happened by chance, I do belive Science is God's way of explaining our world to us. I dont think I could just force myself to stop beliveing in God, just like you cant force yourself to.
Yes, more faith. If you thinkof a omnipresent and omnipotent God that woudl be a pretty good way of describing the universe, wouldnt it? The personal relationship comes fromt the Bible, but I beleive God is everywhere, knows everything, and cares about me and you and the small animals in the forest.
How about explaining some of this belief to us then? It seems very difficult to get you to when all you keep saying is "I have faith" and pretty much nothing else.
I am not trying to be difficult. I have faith there is a God. I dont confuse that with science. I understand I have no evidence there is a God, and that is important to my walk with Christ, evidence would just make Him another scientific fact. My faith is not something I could just change my mind about, I belive clear down in my soul. I dont know why.

Ok thanks for that. If it dosen't hurt anyone, I respect your belief. But believing in something when you dont know why seems kind of crazy to me. If I told you to give me all your money and I would give you treble back within a week, would you do it? If not, why not when it has just as much going for it as god, as you claim?
No, for one thing I am married and I have no money, she does. It doesnt have as much going for it as God, that is another baseless claim. I just dont believe you would give it back to me 3x.
How is that baseless when there it has no less basis that you've given us for belief in god?
I understand that. What I cant get you to understand is I truly belive there is a God, I have faith in that fact (to me). There is less reason for me to believe you woudl give me 3x my money back, mainly life experience. I dont just beleive in anything.
That's ok. Don't use the brain you have, just let God or your religion tell you what to think and do. God does not like independent thinkers. Instead of evaluating for yourself, just be a good little rule follower because that is what impresses God the most. Oh yes, don't decide your morals, they impose those on you too.

sorry Axis, like I tell so many others...your interpretation of God and the Bible is an OPINION. Nothing more. Tell me this, what makes you think your opinion is so validated when it is purely perspective? There will always be a RELEVANT counter argument to what you say. Study and unveil that relevance, buddy.
