tell me how exactly my smoking pot in the quiet of my home is going to kill grandma and grandpa?

there are some things you can not legislate and it has been proven

there are plenty of laws banning drunk driving and they keep lowering the limit to the point that makes a criminal out of somebody that should not be. All the while not addressing the problem with repeat offenders that get wasted and drive.

Prohibition did not and never will work

You two Neanderthals continue to define use as abuse. There is a difference. You can say you have proven your points and so what? It is equally proven that the war on drugs is a losing battle. And always will be.

I suggest you read this thread from the beginning.
It's not about defining what is abuse versus use.......it's about replacing harmful drugs used for abuse with less harmful drugs for the same purpose......abuse.
The thread starter made that very clear.
This is not the typical pot thread like you and I have been in before.
It's all about drug abuse.
The thread starter even made it easier to tear apart his argument when he defined regulation of pot for abuse to be regulated by medical prescriptions for recreation.....:D :D :D :D :D

This is the funniest pot debate I've ever been in :24:

Intelligence for one :D :D :D :D

stupidity for another :eek :eek :eek

Hate to break it to you suddenly so's you don't wet yourself....but no one is arguing for a prohibition of pot :p :p :p :p

I see issues of reading comprehension :D

You appear distraught and frustrated as your fallacious arguments didnt hold water.

Remember if you are going to throw rocks at a cave man....he is going to use that big stuck and knock em out of the park

Actually I'm not. I just know when to stop beating a dead horse. If you don't understand the difference between proving something (like, with facts and stuff) and stating your opinion you're not worth my time.

And cavemen don't play baseball. :D

That's the funny thing about it... they keep saying they're proving things, but they're only stating their opinions and too damn stupid to know the difference. I give up on trying to have a rational discussion with fucking morons. I'm with you... damn neanderthals.

Classic case of denial :p

And you obvious don't have the capacity to understand.

and stating your opinion you're not worth my time.
Following that logic......it appears your presence has been a waste of time for all involved as you've nothing but opinion.
I've proved your opinions illogical. ( that means 'wrong' ...to simple people like you :D )

Fair game? You're seriously trying to intimidate me? How pathetic. :24:

Like I said... not worth the effort because you've no idea the difference between fact and opinion which is essential in any worth debate. So you just keep patting yourself on the back and making yourself look even worse. You can dig your own hole better than I ever could. :D

Caffeine is an addictive drug. It has viewable withdrawl symptoms. It has about the same likelyhood of overdose as marijuana. It has verifiable effects on the human body.

Yet, a 12 year old can walk into a grocery store and buy a red bull, or walk into starbucks and buy a double espresso.

Our country did try to regulate it at one time. They even seized a bunch of coca-cola.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Forty_Barrels_and_Twenty_Kegs_of_Coca-Cola

And I think our country will take up the battle against caffeine very soon. Why? Because the government likes to listen to moms cry "Its for the kids" when in reality, it is people trying to tell others what to do with their bodies.

It is sad how this country is becoming more and more of a nanny state.

Legalization is the only real answer. Otherwise it is just more hypocrisy on the governments part.

Actually there have been new regulations on caffeine ....many months ago there were reported deaths from buying caffeine in powder form...they would put some of the powder in a drink then die a violent death.
Red bull is regulated as to the amount of caffeine it can have per drink...as well as other drinks
Without these regulations...that 12 year old kid you mention could go up and get the drug in powder form and perhaps have fatal results.

Remember drugs usage laws become enacted after a problem is shown to exist....not before.

:D

I have proved you...YOU! wrong WRONG!...you wrong, wrong you and about all you could respond with was a personal attack.

You didn't prove anything. You simply stated your opinions differed from me and why. At least I'm intelligent enough to know the difference. I actually do feel sorry for you. :(

I have written plenty for you to rebut...much of it very factual as shown by history itself.
I have not see any new arguments presented by those that are in support of illegal drug usage..There is the dead horse

So please provide me with some facts that show society is better off with relaxed legislation of illegal drugs

Actually....that is my position, Man.

Decriminalization of abuse/use.
But not of sale and distribution.

It does seem to be having a positive effect in Portugal in reducing abuse and crime at the same time.
Obviously legalization would ignore those issues.
valis from 'that other forum' had stats on examples of legalization of pot being a failure....I'll search that out when I find time.......I assume you remember that thread....about 2 years ago.

I'll have to cut this session off for me in a little while ... about 4 PM....just got the call they're moving her into a nursing home and I'll need to be there .

I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm simply stating my opinion, which happens to differ from yours. I realize that you can't understand that concept, much like you can't understand the difference between opinion and fact.

We already have legal drug usage in the US. That is a fact. My opinion that the government should not make any drugs illegal is based on that fact, but it is strictly my opinion and not fact. Hopefully that simplifies things enough so that you're actually able to comprehend the difference.

My point is I don't believe it's the government's right to tell me what I can put in my body. They can, however, tell me that I'm not allowed to operate heavy machinery because I then become a danger to others, which is in their right to protect. They cannot, however, protect me from myself, nor should they try. Obviously they really don't have it right anyways since the drug that kills the most people is legal and the one that kills none isn't.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but then again, I don't equate guns being legal with allowing people to beat the crap out of each other either. :24:

Sure you are...but have nothing to substantiate your opinion.

The fact is you have nothing to support your opinions....that is a fact..not an opinion.

Well yes.
My opinion that the government should not make any drugs illegal is based on that fact
Legal drug usage is due to a medical need or the legislation of the drug itself.

Your free for all deregulation proposition is rather scary given the effects it will have on society.
Example Aunt June thinks she needs insulin because she has a headache and dry mouth{from reading an article on the internet}..she takes a shot and dies.
Prescriptions are written after a diagnosis..thus why we have doctors...Your proposition of everyone being able to practice medicine shows the lack of deductive reasoning.
but it is strictly my opinion and not fact. Hopefully that simplifies things enough so that you're actually able to comprehend the difference
The fact still remains that your proposition based off your opinion places society in danger..that's a fact
