True. The Christian religion is supposed to preach forgiveness, and thus has no room for hatred.
What if somebody burns your daughter and rapes your...scratch that, reverse it.

I know what you said, but other's in here have said the Bible encourages homophobia and whatnot. My post really wasn't directed at you, my bad. Thanks for answering some of the things I wasn't too sure about.
The bible is pretty distinct about what god wants you to do. People just simply either do not know enough about their faith to follow all of it or they do and just don't like certain parts and only follow some of it. In the end, religious people just make up their own rules and stick some religious stuff in here and there and live their lives. To me it has never been about COMMANDING anything. Someone can give you a direction on how to use a hammer, but it makes no sense unless you pick it up and experience it for yourself.
That should be how theology works. It can be a tool, or a weapon. The choice is always ours to make.

God has a plan, and he has spoken through the bible and his son to give us those commands (apparently). If you do not follow them, you really aren't following god. You're cherry picking beliefs.
Thats what I was talking about. God/Jesus is VERY clear on what he wants us to do.To me it appears that GOD is clear on what his plans and punishments are, and that he is the final judge. HOWEVER, if you follow the New Book, it is clearly stated that you are forgiven....Regardless. I do not recall Jesus killing anyone in that story...I'll go back and check, but I do not recall it.

No, I think you're missing my point I was trying to make. Of COURSE The bible means nothing to me. I'm just saying that I just don't think you can subjectively follow what god says.Exactly, and you can choose to do it or not do it. If you are of the atheist movement, it should really have no impact on your life whatsoever, just wasted in and paper.
Not to be rude of course, but I studied math and science for four years of college, and two years of graduate school, I believe a lot of what I read, and I do think that there is consequence for not following what folks before me learned the hard way.
But I can always choose to tempt fate. That is what free will is about.

^^^ What exactly does this mean???
Hard nut to crack Badboy. Warning ya. :ninja
Because if your kids don't go to church they'll turn into gays! :willy_nilly::willy_nilly::willy_nilly:How did this turn into a debate about homosexuality and what the bible says of it? :24:

Don't waste your time. I used to go to church, and apparently so did you. You're just using this as some sort of pathetic attempt to get in my pants, and there's just no way that's gonna fuckin happen. You're lookin' mighty sexy today.
But you would be ignoring a lot of god's will if you just take what seems good to you and ignore the rest.I was referring to science, there, the scriptures if you follow them can be teachings. I learned in college about lot's of folks before me who learned lessons before me. I trust that there are consequences for not following let's say, the laws of gravity, I can have faith that it's true, or no and face the consequences thereof.
That is my point, you can ignore it, and that's okay, or obey it and that's probably okay too. It's all a matter of your perspective. Take everything for what it's worth to you, that's all that matters.
Thats not a bad thing. This will be a debate that will withstand the sands of time....because it ALL depends on FAITH.....and a lot of pepole have none.....
