im not going to say that there is not god because i myself would like to believe that something happens after death whether it be heaven or anything else, but nobody can deny that the religious institutions of this world have completely manipulated any kind of religion that could possibly be believed as pure and good. if not then explain how child molesters can manipulate there way into the whole religious experience and disguise it as being a man who is somehow serving god

can i just say i love the assumption that everythign is pure chance.. its statistics.. ok.. so im not a scientist.. so u need a sertain temperature a sertan factors and boom... the world is created.. religious ppl may argue.. yes god put that together... i dont buy it.. now think how HUGE space is.. and there are little reactions gog#ing on every where.. think how many planets there are( how many we dont knwo about).. at some point 1 is bound to be bl to susatain life.. if enough are created the odds are 1 enhabitable..

it's no wonder that atheists consider the faith demanded of most big time religions to be so goofy.

this is just a statement from Man (humanity), looking at what he (it) is capable of, and then leaping to the conclusion that "someone" (a greater, perfect Man) must have built the universe.

it's so absurdly anthropomorphic that is willing to sacrifice the similarities between religious messages -the ones that religion are actually "meant" to answer, imo- and to focus instead on a single silly point who's only value to the faithful is to answer the questions posed by science.

why there are differents gods, it's illogic, that make no sense.
scientists had explain how the life started on the Earth.

if there is a god, what was he doing before create life on earth ? etc...

in fact, you can explain all problem by using the reason of the god.
and why in some of religions, there are restrictions ? can't do sex before be married, can't eat pig.. etc...
religion was created when people were "stupid" (because they had no education). Religion used fair and understanding eg : "Why am I ill ?" "because God want you...." etc....

Are you, Cougar, basing your belief on a maybe? I know I am, but my belief is that nothing is certain, while you are staking your beliefs on very specific religious dogma based on a maybe? Generally speaking it's ok to feel like you've got it figured out, but another to try to argue "facts" where there are no facts in a thread like this.

I think people should be more concerned with the way they live their lives in the here an now rather than worry about what happens when they die. Maybe there is and maybe there isn't a god but if they live their life to the fullest as the best person they can be then the existence of god doesn't matter.

So someone did something to you and you stop believing in him. How unfortunate. You shpuld not allow people to take away your faith or belief in something no matter what they do or say.
