Yep. The sad part is (well, sad to me at least), you can't teach the Bible in public schools, but you can sure as heck teach evolution as truth if you want!

If you want to teach religion (Creation) in science class then do you also want to teach science in theology class?

Sure, they're both intertwined anyway. :)

I'd be happy if they would teach both sides of the story, and say hey, we don't know for sure which one of these is right, so choose for yourself. But right now, all they are doing is teaching evolution, and teaching it as fact. Which is just plain wrong - it's brainwashing of the people. I'd say the same thing if Creationism were taught as fact in a public school.

It's amazing how many people I've talked to who have no idea what evidence really exists for evolution, they just accept it because it's taught as the truth in schools.

Yes, but there's also many verses in the Koran that contradict the Bible. I don't believe they are part of the same thing. I (personally) believe that the Koran is merely a book written by someone as what he thought would be a good addition to the Bible, but that it is not inspired by God.

Have you ever read Koran and you think like this or you havent read Koran yet.

did Jesus say that he was the last prophet and the bible was the last holly book ?

You only think they are intertwined. You fail time and time again to understand the differences between them. You also fail to understand what science is so you have no right to say its brainwashing. If so then you are a hypocrite for denouncing science yet enjoying its rewards.

How can they NOT be intertwined when they both attempt to explain how we got to be here? It's only fair to present both sides of the equation, and let people decide which one they'd like to believe.

And science has NOT proven evolution.

You are not debating, you are just a Denier interested in preaching. I have heard your argument many times before and from people much more intelligent than you or I. Go ahead and tell me you don't enjoy the rewards of science. What are you using to converse with me at this moment? Using electricity? Ever use modern medicines? Wear a seatbelt in a car?

People that have debated religion and science have long passed the phase you are at, that is, deny anything positive about and discredit anything that threatens your belief system. People, if I may use an analogy, who discuss such matters are already in high-school while you are still in Grade 1, argueing with the teacher. If you want to engage in a more serious and advanced debate on this subject matter you can PM me and I can direct you to another forum where intelligent discourse abounds on both sides of the issues you are attempting to raise here. Until then I have to bow out of this forum because I have no desire to debate how to reinvent the wheel.

Please PM me. I think you are worth debating and exposing to more complex lines of thought.

What I believe it to be is just a pile of hypocritical bullshit thrown into a book.

OH, MY

Someone once said, I wouldn't want to live my life as if there is no GOD and to die and find out that there is.

NO quotations because I'm not sure if I have it exactly right.

Anyway, I'm not sure if the bible is real and I believe most of it was written by William Shakespeare.

I will try to live my life as close to it as humanly possible. I would not want to die and go to hell and find out that it was true and I ignored it.

I do pray and ask GOD to help me interpret it, because I don't trust man here enough on earth to do it for me. The truth of the matter is that everyone interprets the bible the way they want too. For years Christians used the Bible to keep men, women, and children in slavery. I could go on for hours but I won't. Of course these are just my opinions.

You're still avoiding the issue - the issue that evolution is taught as fact in the public classroom when it is nothing more than a belief.

And I never said I didn't enjoy the rewards of science. I'm all for science, don't get me wrong there!

I've yet to see any major contradictions - care to show me one? ;)
If it's divinely inspired and is the word of God, ANY contradiction is a major one. Any contradiction would prove that god is not infallible.

Here's a few for you:

ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
DEU 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

MAT 27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."
LUK 23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
JOH 19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

"For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." (GEN 32:30)
"And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see me and live." (EXO 33:20)

Matt 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (NIV)
Matt 6:3-4 "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (NIV)

I believe it is not true, and it constantly contradicts itself. I have other problems with it too, but I don't particularly want to get into it. haha

You are hopelessly and pathetically brainwashed! Evolution is as studied and supported with evidence, methodology theory and corroboration as any other branch of science. You reject it because it threatens the bullshit beliefs of a book of fairy tales. You are blind. You are not all for science. You pick and choose the parts that don't frighten you and reject the parts that do because they threaten the bullshit beliefs of a book of fairy tales. You're just another lost fundie that lacks the courage to look outside the lies you have been fed all your life.

You're actually quite wrong.

At the moment, it's not "THIS IS EVOLUTION AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED AND YOU CANT DENY IT" It's "This is evolution, it's what you need to learn to pass this course, however, you're allowed to believe what you want but if you want to pass, don't let it effect what you write in an exam"

I've read parts of the Koran, yes.

And I'm not sure about your second question, but here is a good read that explains why I believe that the Bible is God's full revelation to us.
How do we know that the 66 Books of the Bible are God’s complete revelation? « Preacherwin’s Weblog

There are four big holly book from God. and you believe three of them and deny the fourth one. As you know Koran was written 6 th century and till today any book has not written as holly books yet.

if Koran did not send by God, we must have many books like Koran had written. but as you know there are not any book like Bible, Koran and etc.

i belive that you must interest with Koran, and learn more about it if you are a good believer. because Koran never deny bible and prophet Jesus on the contrary Koran support Jesus and bible. There are many verses tell about jesus and bible.

God sent many prophets from Adam to Jesus and to Mohammed.

And you must know that the books like bible and koran could not written by man.

Supported by evidence from SOME scientists, but yet there are many who reject it. Darwin himself even rejected his theory before he died.

If it was indisputable as gravity, I would agree, but it is not. It is not proven, nor can it ever be proven, because it is not a repeatable event (unless we get some random mutation during our lifetimes that presents a new species to us). So I refuse to believe something that has never been seen by a human before.
