Do you think all psychiatry is quackery?
I wouldn't like to say all psychiatry is. But it has been shown time and time again to be seriously flawed.
Take for example the Zeebrugge ferry disaster. The survivors of the event were offered free psychiatric therapy to overcome the horror they'd lived through. Some accepted, some refused. In a later study of the survivors, it was shown that those who attended therapy or undertook psychiatric treatment were worse off than before, whereas the ones who'd refused and just talked to friends and family about the incident recovered perfectly.
That is why I treat psychiatry with suspicion. Unless you're dealing with serious psychoses then I think you're better off dealing with friends and family.
