Flag is to cloth as laws are to ink stains on paper.![]()
I hope this doesn't offend anyone but... a flag is just a piece of cloth...
it stands up only for something absolutely abstact. People are what is important, not flags and colors...Its not the cloth girl. Its what it stands for. :smiley24:
This post is unnecessarily rude. We have a different way to see something and that's how you react? I like living in my country. I don't like my flag because I know some people find this flags or piece of clothes something to kill for and I strongly disagree with it. What always comes first for me is people. I know that I was born here just by chance and I'm sure you can't deny every country has it's share of assholes and luckily also it's share of wonderful people. Me not believing in nacionalism should not be a reason for you to react like that. You just dont understand do you? Thats fine, I'm finished discussing it. you have no fucking pride in your country, thats fine, but I love my country and every fucking stitch on that fucking flag. Stop calling it "just a piece of cloth." I love my country and that flag because of the people. I hate my government, but my fellow American brothers and sisters make up what that flag stands for.

Its not just a "piece of cloth" when its flying over a battleship thats on its way save your ass.
People die for flags.. I know that. Do I agree with it? NO. I am not being disrespectful to you or your country, or my country for instance. (as I was talking about ALL flags being pieces of cloth) I have nothing but respect towards Americans and I think it's pretty obvious. I have read a few pages back, I can respect your opinion, but I don't share it and much less think the way you talked to me was justified by that. This is a debate forum, you can't expect me not to tell you my opinion. I mentioned in my post that I didn't want to offend anybody, and I really didn't want. I am sorry but I still think you took your comment too far and that was uncalled for. Can't I have a different opinion about flags? can't I feel free to say what I want to say without you being that rude to me?You dont have to refer to something so many of my American brothers have died for "a piece of cloth." It stands for something to us Americans. Its not just the cloth. I dont know how many times, or any different ways I can explain that. You calling my flag "just a piece of cloth" is very disrespectful. Say that kind of stuff in public while in America and see if you dont get the same reaction that you got from me. And as you said in your post, we have a different way of seeing things. Yes thats how I react. You were picking open a tender subject. If you took the time to read a few pages back, you would understand how we feel about that comment. So dont make me out to be the bad guy. It seemed like altercation is what you were looking for when you made your first comment.

how wasn't it? you were speaking about pure and simple simbolism. About flying one flag above another one. I wanted to state my opinion about it. How is my opinion not important?Tell me how this statement was productive to the debate. :confused

You know what's funny? for the first time I don't want to answer to a post here. It's because I'm afraid to be talked to like I just was. I think that is not why I joined this place, so maybe I should leave. I have been in a political forum for a long time and I never felt that way before.:clap:clap
How was my statement radical?I was speaking of the laws in my country. That is symbolism, yes, but it was productive to the debate. You hoped you didnt insult someone, then made a radical statement, now your acting like you never thought someone would get upset. If you didnt want to make anyone mad, why couldnt you make the statement, but then also give a reason as to why you feel that way? If seemed like you were just tryin to take a shot. Sorry it backfired.
Really? people need to earn your respect? and in the midtime you feel free to insult them? well, good for you. I guess you understand I don't want to talk to somebody who doesn't respect me only because we disagree.Well, earn my respect and you can have it.
