yeah but you seem to have this mentality that all homosexuals should be kidnapped and forced into camps against their will even if they "die" or something. That is psychotic.

I didnt say they should be. I wouldent support it because it was killing, but If it happens to them, its whatever. Better them then us.

I'm sure the gay soldiers you fight along side in the army would feel so reasured to have you fighting next to them

Uhm the only soldiers i fight along side is my platoon, They all are married or have children. I am the only single soldier in the platoon with no dependents. I am also the youngest. So i doubt any of them are gay. And if they are, they brought dates to our post deployment ball. If we have gay soldiers, they have successfully hid their gayness for about 1.5 years now which is the smarter thing todo.

it is not a them/us situation

you swore to protect Americans

you don't choose which ones to protect

for fuck's sakes I don't get your hatred for gays. I can agree that some of them are too flamboyant and they tend to be a little too liberal (I'm a conservative) but at the end of the day they're people.

So if a gay person joined your platoon, you'd quit? I'd seriously hope so. If someone is prepared to put their life on the line for their country, I'd like to hope it wasn't needlessly endangered further by some biggotted twat who's supposed to be strongly relied on to stay alive but who in fact dosen't give a shit about them. I sincerely hope for the sake of US soldiers that one of your superiors sees your dangerous and horrible attitude and gives you a dishonorable discharge from the army. You clearly arn't up to the job or trustworthy enough.

I think Doc knows his package has been oogled by a gay soldier... now he can't face the fact he liked it.... he lives in the biggest world of denial I have seen in a while...

Can't speak for the current decade, but when I was in the Army, in a combat MOS, you didn't know who, if anyone was gay, and that was the way it was kept, PERIOD.

Shit, I don't know what today's Army is like, but guys who opted for the briefs instead of the boxers would be the target of a blanket party from time to time in basic, and you sure in hell weren't going to tell anyone you were gay.

Peter, I suggest you join.

Your completely right. I did swear to protect Americans. I am assuming this scenario was supporting the fact the government was putting homosexuals in concentration camps. If the federal government was doing it i wouldent care. If another country is doing it i wouldent care either. If i was given orders by the US Government to go to war with another country having gay concentration camps, i would because those are my orders. Not because i give a shit about homosexuals.

No i wouldent quit. He would. Please read Joe The Meek's post. He is a former soldier, he understands.

So because i hate homosexuals I am denial of being one. Thats so logical.(sarcasm) I hate the airforce, so i guess im in that too. I also hate residents of the rival neighborhood's from mine back home, guess i secretly lived in the rival neighborhood. I fucking cant stand the Redskins, i guess im just pretending to be a cowboys fan because im in denial and i secretly like the redskins. I hate and am totally against rape, one of my good friends was raped and killed, but according to your logic i am a rapist in denial then... eventhough i have never raped anyone.

There you go you understand. BTW for those of you that dont know what a blanket party is, its when a bunch of guys pull a blanket over a guy thats sleeping so he cant see, then they all either put a padlock or soap bar in a boot sock and beat the crap out of the guy with the blanket over his face. Is common in bootcamp/basic training for soldiers who get in trouble and get everyone else in trouble.

Also, when i said i hated the airforce. I know there are prior airmen here. I dont mean it like i despise and dont appreciate the things you do. You guys took me home on vacation, and fly injured soldiers to the hospital in germany and whatnot. Its more of the whole Soldiers think airmen are pampered and living in hotels and eating 5 star food/ Airmen thinking soldiers are stupid and expendible (not smart enough to be in the airforce). The whole you guys are treated better then us type shit. A friendly rivalry type thing.

Also airforce personell, it would be really cool if when my soldiers were shot you guys wouldent just fly away because u hear some small arms fire, leaving an injured soldier like that. I mean the ARMY MEDEVACS just bring an Armed Escort (Apache) with them to protect them while they hoist up the injured joe's then ride off. Just a suggestion Airmen ;)

My dad spent over 25 years in the Air Force. He agrees completely with you. He thought I was a dumb ass for joining the Army, and even worse when I told him combat arms (I think his exact words were after I told AFTER the fact..."what, are you fucking stupid?":24:)

That said, love my dad, a great man in my eyes.

Actually you have to defend citizens from the federal government as well if their actions were unconstitutional. The gay concentration camps would be incredibly constitutional. That is why soldiers can disobey orders in certain situations.

"Enemies foreign and domestic...."

Bold letters signify an absolute bull shit statement. I can see it now... "I don't know sir, do you think what we're doing is unconstitutional?":24: or... "I don't know sarge, I have a constitutional right to live, why don't you send Jones out to sweep the perimeter instead?":24:

I don't know, perhaps they changed the oath. For some reason, I don't remember swearing to defend citizens from the government if their (government) actions were unconstitutional.

A soldier follows orders, as Doc mentioned he would.

Now, if Doc we're given a command to kill innocent unarmed civilians, that's a topic open for debate.

maybe you should reread what you swore:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

if the federal government is at odds with the constitution, you can refuse orders based on the fact that they are defying it and therefore defying the law of the land

If the military ordered you to round gays up and force them into camps the most patriotic thing you could do is refuse and lay down arms

I've got to ask, what year did you take your oath?

What were you, a JAG in training when you took the oath?

I'm not in the military, I don't need to be to discuss this issue. This is the exact oath they use to swear to.

Either way, if someone ordered you to round up homosexuals into concentration camps you're probably a terrible person if you don't refuse.

Yeah, you can't discuss the issue because you know nothing about it.

You fucking take orders when you're in the military. You don't have a life, and the government owns you ass to do with as they please. If you're lucky, you don't get fucked.

You see those two men in Doc's signature? They had a choice. Be thankful even if you don't think you owe it.

Um no you see I posted the exact oath they swear to

you're supposed to uphold and defend the constitution

and no you don't have to accept all orders, you can refuse orders like rounding up homosexuals and forcing them into concentration camps. If you don't, you're not upholding or defending the Constitution, which is a breach of your oath and therefore not admissible.

REGARDLESS of any constitutional problems with this situation, throwing homosexuals into concentration camps is entirely unethical, against the law and horrendous no matter how you feel about their sexual choices. If you were any sort of decent human being, you'd simply refuse to do it.

Exactly...the military shouldn't get a free pass for corruption wherever it pleases, debated emotionally instead of logically. The mission of the military is clearly laid out, however it wants to twist things internally, it will, but it doesn't make it right.
