Why do you read books?

I mostly read for the pleasure, never really understood why people see reading as a chore either. I'm concidered weird very often for enjoying the books I'm currently reading. I use audiobooks to escape the world. Whenever I turn on an audiobook that's well read, with a nice, soothing voice, my problems just seem to melt away instantly. It's comparable to putting on really good music, but it works so well for me!

Well it depends on the kinds of books. I read educational books to gain more knowledge and pass a course and then i read novels for pleasure.
