Getting back on track I suggest you take a look at this site if you dare. I came upon it about 7 or 8 years ago while a heated discussion on a related topic was was taking place on a different forum. I still can't get some of the images out of my head so be warned the same will happen to you. The nice thing is if you take the unfortunate step in viewing some of the videos you'll come back and agree with me that Sharia Law is barbaric and uncivilized and you'll stop defending the practice.

One more thing..... what kind of a " trial " do they get before the punishment is handed out and by what sort of uneducated backwards nutjob(s).

And these videos relate to Sharia Law, how? I'm seeing a lot of porn ads and links to videos but not any mention of these being punishments from Sharia Law. What do you suggest?
You haven't actually read my statements properly. Did I actually say I support it? No. Did I say I was against it? No. What I'm talking about is why people from our culture hate on Sharia Law, reasons why people misperceive things about it. That is what this thread is actually about.

Before a person is sentenced to death under Sharia Law, family members and relatives do get the chance to beg for mercy and forgiveness, after all, their religion asks their adherents to be forgiving. I don't see our system doing that. That was stated in the original article in the original post. Had you have read the article you might be well-informed and not had to ask that question.
I think calling them uneducated backwards nutjobs is a matter of opinion, and it's because it's a different culture to yours. If you had grown up in that culture, it's likely you would think it's the norm and not be as bothered by it.

I've viewed the videos and I think it's the most horrid and most inhumane behavior i've ever seen. But as Kimmy pointed out, its the norm for this particular culture. My personal opinion???? I soooooooo appreciate where I live and breathe....

I found pictures of a man being set on fire, but the people in the picture seemed to look dark/Black and African, so it's possible that picture could be from Africa and from one of their conflicts?
