Good to see ya Joe! :waving::yahoo:

Work has been to busy these last couple of days.

Oh, wait a minute, you mean to say if I believe in God and have faith, I shouldn't have to work and that God shall provide???

Hows this...

Too many *&^%*&^ people think that if something goes wrong in their life or they don't get their way, if they believe in a God, for some reason they think their God is punishing them somehow.

Just went to a funeral service for a 42 year old woman last night who spent 2 years in hospice. She went to Duke divinity school and was married to a minister, and had three wonderful young children. Remarkably smart woman. I honestly believe some of these forum ninja's who know everything could learn a thing or to about faith and God from this woman. That is my opinion only, and we all know what opinions are like, particularly like those of Greatest I am in my own mind.

Good to see ya Joe! :waving::yahoo:

Stopping it is one issue.
In the case of God and Noah. God was the one doing the crime against humanity.

His War cry was----drown the children and babies first. Their crying is sooo annoying.

DL

Now you're making up stories, and you accuse ME of believing in fairy tales....lol...please. I'd respect you more if you'd just own up to knowing nothing rather than ramble on like you've been doing.

That blends well with my little saying that faith without facts is for fools.

Faith based on something is justifiable to a point. But faith based on nothing but hear say, to develop a moral sense from, is foolish.

We have logic and reason for a reason and to not use them is a waste of a good mind.

Regards
DL

Who are you to judge my faith? Who are you to say what's justifiable and what is not? How dare you call me a fool when you're so obviously acting the part. Shame on you!!!

I think you ignored the junk science and logical fallacies I exposed in your argument. You presented a shitty, parroted argument, which I tore to shreds piece by piece with real logic and science. Then you act like there is nothing to talk about. What, you couldn't find a Youtube video to refute me? The video you posted was unfactual, unscientific, and fallacious, and I have pointed out how specifically. Defend your garbage argument you fucking coward. You want to attack religious people all the time with your logic and science, then let's do it. I'm right here. I love making people like you feel as fucking stupid and shallow as you really are.

Though I don't expect an actual decent argument from what I have seen from you. I'm still trying to get over your pathetic "argument" about entropy proving the universe is perfect because it is doing what is in its nature to do. Everything in the universe does what is in it's nature to do you fucking retard. It is a fucking tautology.

A rare moment of partial agreement between Me & Joe on religion
I believe something else we can agree upon is that no one on this earth knows for a FACT what happens to our "soul" or "life energy" or whatever else you would want to call whatever makes up you as a person.

Although we may rarely agree due to the fact that you don't believe in a God and I do (or "higher power" or whatever else you may want to call a power greater than our own), please keep in mind, I don't think you'll ever find a post of mine "blasting" whatever someone else may believe. It seems I only get involved into the discussion usually when some high and almighty atheist starts spewing reasons why a God could never exist.

Miss sexisadie, could you please change your avatar and other picture for the religious topics? I find them very distracting for the topic at hand:p (don't blame me for being honest :D)

The decisive falsification of Jesus' doctrine was the work of St.Paul.

You may well be right about Hitler not being a true believer. However, since Paul was the architect of Christianity, the above quote by Hitler may indicate his problem wasn't really with Jesus or God but rather with the Christian church. If memory serves correct, you have a bit of a problem with the Christian church too but still consider yourself a Christian. Although those in the church may not. That is not to imply Hitler and you are similar. Hitler was batshit insane.

I agree with you whether Hitler was a true believe or not, he certainly used religion to persuade others to support his evil agenda. His public support of Christianity may have been to win the support of German church leaders. Still, it's sad that antisemitism could win their support.

This is how I feel about Hitler as well. It seems to far a stretch to attribute his actions to a personal belief in any religion or lack of belief. He may very well have believed in a god of some sort, even if it was himself...heh, but that does not seem to be the thing that drove him.

sad but true....

The way I see it, Hitler didn't really have a problem with either, he used the church, Jesus and God just as surely as he used other individuals.

I have a problem with you putting 'christian' before the word church. Not all christians attend the church and not all churches are attended by christians....take that as you wish..

Ironic that the subject is now on Hitler.

One of the better sermons I've heard recently is how we on earth like to judge who is going to heaven or hell. Our minister used Hitler as an example, and asked what if Hitler had asked for forgiveness before his final moments and God granted it? Would we be mad if some of the people we thought shouldn't be in heaven were?

Going off tangent, and no offense, but IMO when we finally got OBL over in the sandbox, I found it somewhat ironic that we as a "Christian" nation had people dancing out in the streets in celebration of the mans death. To that extent, are the Christians any better than the Muslims who dance in the street on their enemies deaths?

That's between God and Hitler, it's not for us to judge what should happen to his soul. As a human being it's difficult not to focus on the obvious.

I wholeheartedly agree. Our ministers point was that we as people tend to always judge others and for some reason, we always assume who is going to heaven and who is going to hell.

I think most people would be shocked if they actually knew the answer to that question.

I'd like to think you're right. If there is a god, which I doubt, I'd like to think he'd be happier with the people who dont go out of their way to hurt others, do their best to help others and not these smug, self righteous, vindictive individuals who use god as an excuse for their behaviour, and before any one asks, I,m not putting all religious people into this basket.
