I did find it was one of the first episodes where I cant recall any zombies appearing or getting killed? None the less I'm looking forward to the next episode tonight :)

I could of swore on the last weeks episode the sheriff pulled out a semi auto out of his holster to shoot those two guys from Philly even though he is always seen carrying a wheel gun? Might not of seen it right though.

The one zombie did appear in front of whats her face causing her to wreck the car. I know that's grabbing at straws but it's still legit. :tooth

This is the song from the end of last weeks episode. Pretty cool.

You are correct! There was the one zombie :p but only a measly one at that!

... and yes that song is pretty awesome!

Good observation sir! I didn't notice this myself, will have to go back and re-watch and see for myself.

For a show about zombie survival they sure have been lacking on the zombies and how has no group of walkers found the farm, it doesn't seem that secluded

I do agree that they have drifted away from the zombies abit. The first load of episodes were kick ass, packed with zombies... and although I still enjoy it, I feel it's become very deep all of a sudden and there focusing more on the stories and personal problems within the group.

Did I comment on this thread yet? WORST Zombie oriented program ever. I'm not one for slow moving plots.

This show is a success precisely because of character interactions and choices, not an abundance of zombies... zombies are the threat that is the catalyst for their decisions. I don't mind slow if I like the characters.

That's hard to say. One thing you can do is get too logical with the premise. If you did, I'd assume the vast majority of walkers would have starved to death by now. However I don't think the big bombshell has yet dropped... fairly big spoiler follows>>>
Eveyone is infected. Everyone who dies comes back as a zombie
. If you reply to it, please keep it covered.

I love this show...I read the graphic novel which was great, and the show, for the most part stayed true to it. However, one big difference, and one that I feel was necessary in order for this show to work on screen is that
Shane dies in the first book. In fact, Carl shoots him. So all of the craziness that is SHANE, doesn't actually happen in the book (which came first)
. And Minor...I kind of agree with you on that, it has rung true in several other zombie stories, so it wouldn't shock me.

It was only yesterday that I was chatting to my friend and he said that he had read the graphic novel and said the show was pretty similar!

I thought this (
Shane's Death
) might happen on last Sunday (2/26), but maybe the writers like him too much... Although I tend to ping on True Blood quite regularly, I'm not necessarily a stickler for the show following the book. In the case of True Blood, they went to far, such as having werewolves and vamps working together. I don't believe this has ever happened in the book as the two groups despise each other. TWD is keeping to the spirit of the story although events are unfurling in a different manner.

I think you're right...he has become a pretty vital member of the show and it's existence as far as I'm concerned. As for True Blood, while it's ridiculousness makes me barf, laugh and fall in love all at the same time, I kind of like their stupid werewolf/vampire legion. They touch on that relationship a bit in Being Human, which if you haven't checked out, you totally should. A werewolf, vampire and ghost are all roommates. Quite funny.

Anyone else read the comic? I'm am up to Episode 19. What I've finding interesting is that in the T.V. show, they seem to using Shane as Rick's alter ego. Because in the comic, Shane is
killed off pretty early
and in the comic Rick acts more like Shane does in the show, he takes charge, he has no problem killing people if they need to be killed, just like the TV Shane. Where the TV Rick seems to have doubts about these kinds of decisions or has to dwell on them before making a decision. :)

Now I'm up to episode #40 of the comic. The show has diverged from the comic in story. In the comic they did not spend half the season looking for lost Sophia. In fact up through #40 she was never lost and is still alive. After leaving the farm they
discover a prison which seems to be an ideal place to setup house
. There is some horrific stuff that goes down there. That might just be around the corner in the show.

Eventually they meet a character who calls himself
The Governor
, then look out. I can't imagine the writers will not ignore this. Note that besides the shock when people are attacked by zombies, the real plot tension is human interaction and violence... the comic includes a considerably
graphic depiction of torture
. I wonder how far the show will go?
