The last couple minutes of the last episode were the best of the season...right up to the part where they pulled my heart out of my chest and trampled it

Yes I was shocked too. If it makes you feel any better, the Sophia subplot is exclusive to the tv show. In the comic when they found a walker, Hershel wanted to put it in the barn and Rick agreed to go along with it
however when they opened the door a bunch of walkers burst out and in the melee, two of Hershel's daughters got bitten. So it was his son in the barn and two daughters. He shot all three of them and more or less gave up on the notion that walkers can be saved. However in the comic, the horror is not over for Hershel...

I refuse to get too logical about walkers (zombies) because I think it would ruin the show for me, but if I apply logic, I don't understand how these dead creatures remain animated, without any physiologic support? The most extreme case just a head, still alive, and making noises. Granted this was in the comic and I don't want to mention the context for spoiler reasons. I wonder if they ever address the issue in the story? (I've not read the comic all the way through.) I assume that if something like this happened in real life, due to lack of sustenance, would all be dead in about a month or so.

I agree they would fade pretty fast.

As has been pointed out to me, zombie stories need some suspension of belief. The 28 Days Later story was real good because those people were not dead, but they kind of acted like a horde of zombies. However I don't remember them eating anyone, just going berserker. ;)

Didn't they address this in the first season when they got to the CDC?

The scene near the end in the bar was intense.

Was very intense indeed, although I didn't expect him 2 shoot them both? I thought it was going to open up another storyline but obviously not! Although did those 2 guys say they had a bigger group with them? Or were they just riding solo?

The preview for the next episode shows Rick, Herschel and Short Round still in the bar as more people are arriving out front and talking to them thru the closed doors.

It was very well done. The two came across as somewhat benign, but you could feel the undercurrent. Oh hell, it was awesome! :D My guess is that Hershel now has a better appreciation for Rick.

That remains to be seen... ;)

I agree that what Rick did in the bar has made Hershel appreciate him again as he was kinda losing his rag with him over the past few episodes! I'm kinda hoping there is more to this other group and it kinda turns into like turf wars some what!

Did I comment on this thread yet? WORST Zombie oriented program ever. I'm not one for slow moving plots.

I found the latest episode incredibly dull.
Still at the same old farm and there's really not anything happening besides those two douche bags getting shot.
40 minutes of nothing!

I did find it was one of the first episodes where I cant recall any zombies appearing or getting killed? None the less I'm looking forward to the next episode tonight :)

The one zombie did appear in front of whats her face causing her to wreck the car. I know that's grabbing at straws but it's still legit. :tooth

This is the song from the end of last weeks episode. Pretty cool.
