Exactly.
I don't respect opinions I don't agree with LOL JS
Don't decide what I took and how I took it.
Well this thread has certainly gone downhill over the last few pages

No, you did take it the wrong way. It is always possible to misinterpret things, and the way you perceived it was not the intended perception I was aiming for.
Whaddaya reckon...should we give it the chop?
:jk Lighten up peoples....
To sum up....its a matter of CHOICE..I do NOT think it should be banned when performed by a doctor..doesnt mean I agree with it...but..
But...NO ONE has adressed the Rabbi's that do it...and I've been looking believe me...I CANNOT see where or how or when THEY (Jewish bubs) get any sort of pain relief.
A RAbbi is NOT a doctor...can someone enlighten me?
I know NO jewish people, and dont know anyone who does?
well about the Rabbi, it's true that they are not legitimate doctors, but in their defense I'm sure they know this particular operation inside and out as it is a major part of their religion, I could see the operation being resticted to licensed doctors though.
People are getting rude that's why. I am so out of this thread. Sorry about your thread dk. Was good while it lasted.
Maybe...but only a doctor (or anaesthetist) can administer an anaesthetic...(over here anyway) and that would include any kind of cream or needle....

 Yes it is a matter of Choice and shouldn't be banned. That we agree on. :nod:To sum up....its a matter of CHOICE..I do NOT think it should be banned when performed by a doctor..doesnt mean I agree with it...but..
Very true, But I don't know whether Rabbi's trained in the operation are given access to anesthetics or not, exceptions could be made for them.

I highly doubt it....but I have been searching to no avail....they explain the technique in great depth...but google the words "jewish circumcision anaesthetic pain relief " etc etc...and I still havent found a link that tells me...
Probably becasue there is none...and they dont want to scare the poor parents that have to be present...
I would love to hear the opinion of someone who has been to a bris and witnessed it first hand...coz I dont know of any NON Jewish parents that would willingly watch their own kid be done... pain relief or no
lol I could ask a couple of my jewish friends, they might be able to tell me.
Would only matter if using prescription-strength anesthetics. There are lots of over-the-counter versions that could be used by anyone. I do know that there is some form of topical used in a bris. Don't know the details, but I know from comments from Jewish friends about socializing at the bris while "waiting on the numbing cream"

Well I didn't witness one but My father is Jewish and my brother is Jewish. My father is circumcised but my brother isn't. What does that tell you?I would love to hear the opinion of someone who has been to a bris and witnessed it first hand...coz I dont know of any NON Jewish parents that would willingly watch their own kid be done... pain relief or no
