Anything can start a baby screaming, especially a strange man snipping at his genitals, that doesn't really prove pain, rather that the baby is scared and doesn't know what's going on.

:24: Yep the bubs screaming at the snipping scissors...

So, in your way of thinking a baby can feel fear but not pain?:willy_nilly:

Sorry DK..... did you read the Wiki link I provided? That said the deep sleep they "seem" to fall into after the screaming and crying is finished isnt actually "sleep" but "shock"

and I'm outta here....this is turning ridiculous honestly.:surrender

Haha, I don't think the baby's eyes will even be open enough to see the weirdo. It'll just be thinking "Stop cutting off my dick, ow you're hurting me you stupid retard, leave my wee wee alone!!" :willy_nilly:

When did I say that babies don't feel pain? Please stop trying to twist my words, I said the fact that a baby is screaming doesn't necessarily mean that it's in pain, any little thing could start a baby screaming, the fact that the baby is screaming when a strange person is prodding at him, and snipping at him doesn't prove that he wasn't anesthetized, also Wikipedia is NOT to be taken seriously in any way shape or form, you do realize that it can be edited by absolutely ANYONE?

I've read anesthesia reduces but doesn't eliminate pain during infant circumcision. Then, of course, there's a lot of pain afterward. As far as I know babies don't get pain killers afterward like adults do. But if you going to subject a baby to circumcision then I definitely think you should use anesthesia.

sigh

I spent 7 years studying A and P and Health at Uni, DK...In dont even NEED the Wiki link to tell me what I KNOW to be a fact.

It was just one source....go and do some research...I bet you wont find any reputable SITE that claims a bub doesnt feel the pain...

They do use local anesthetics for infantile circumcision. It's a needle injection. That'd set me off hollering too.

I'd say you're less prone to infection as an adult. As a baby, you're in a diaper and the open wound is trapped with urine and fecal matter and all the bacteria that comes with it.

I had both of mine circumcised and don't regret it. And was very happy when neither of them seemed to be in too much pain shortly after when they were brought back to the room to me.

Two primary forms of local anesthetic are used to make the operation less painful for a baby:

a topical cream (a cream put on the penis) that requires at least 20 to 40 minutes to take its full effect
an injectable anesthetic that requires less time to take effect and may provide a slightly longer period of anesthesia

AGAIN Cam, NEVER ONE SINGLE TIME DID I CLAIM THAT BABIES DON'T FEEL PAIN, you are trying to twist my words, and I don't appreciate that. I said that the fact that a baby is screaming during circumcision doesn't mean that it wasn't anesthetized, never that babies don't feel pain. NEVER.

You misunderstood what I was saying, I didn't say that babies don't feel pain, I honestly don't see how you could have got that out of what I wrote, I said that just because a baby is screaming doesn't mean it's in pain, the majority of the time babies are screaming and crying for no real reason whatsoever.

I understand what you are saying about the screaming, but I wanted to fix one thing. Babies do not scream for no reason. It's the babies way to communicate and there is a reason they do it. Whether it be they are scared, hungry, dirty, sore, etc. They don't do it for no real reason.

Right, and by "no reason" I mean that it takes very little to set them off, any little thing could terrify a baby and start it screaming, what in the babies mind is a good reason to scream could really be any slight thing that can't hurt him in any way.
