This is a quote to get one thinking, it isn't presented as an absolute truth or scientific fact. Of course you aren't an atheist if you are a Christian. Even though the first Christians were considered atheists by the Romans for not worshiping the Pagan deities. But it's to get one thinking about the reason why they don't believe in the thousands of gods that are not their Christian god.

This was a profound question for me when I was questioning why I was a christian and it's still a relevant question today. It's a very scary question to contemplate for those who are of faith, at least those who seriously ask themselves the question.

I did not realize the Columbine School Killers considered themselves atheists. You'd have to ask how did they arrive at that philosophy? Speculation might suggest that they thought their lives sucked, so how could there be a Christian God?

I did not realize the Columbine School Killers considered themselves atheists. You'd have to ask how did they arrive at that philosophy? Speculation might suggest that they thought their lives sucked, so how could there be a Christian God?

What has that got to do with God? If people do acts of evil because their lives sucked, that has nothing to do with God, those two had personal opinions about their lives, which they could of done something constructive instead of killing students and teachers

BTW, I'm not the one who linked this discussion to Columbine *and* there is an element of believers in God who believe that Atheists are inherently evil. My comment is not making excuses for their actions but was speculating why they might describe themselves as Atheists.

It brings up an excellent discussion regarding the Columbine Killers- were they inherently evil or did they have human problems that became insurmountable to them?

This is quite interesting.
Some fundamentalists are known to abuse logic to defend and prove their agenda, and some atheists are now known to advance fallacious logic in order to advance their own agenda.
But the atheists in question do seem to stand defensively behind the concept of logic as their argument in rebuttals.

Can you link me to any post where I have insulted members on this site? As far as I am concerned I haven't, only stated truths about certain members.
