you'd still not have a bad bench: walcott, crouch\bent, young, parker, dawson, cole, green

i dabbled with the idea of having walcott in the starting line up, but I don't think he's lived up to expectations yet; still, as an impact player, there wouldn't be many better.

I think Parker should play the holding role, because other than Hargreaves who has played 5 minutes of football since September 2008, England don't have one. I would drop either Lampard or Gerrard, because Wilshere is young and the future has to involve him, thus he cannot be dropped. And you absolutely have to have a holding man in a 4-3-3, because of the full backs overlapping.

exactly, but would you have the surging runs of gerrard or the possession of lampard?

Lampard, because the beauty of 3 up top means Rooney will play off the striker, thus would make those runs and track back. Though you could also play Gerrard if you told Rooney to help back in the midfield a bit and link up with Gerrard. Though that would obviously take from his up front game. It's complicated. It'll be a lot clearer after the Euro's because a few players for me will retire, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand. Enabling the new manager to bring in younger players.

as ity goes,i like rooney dropping deep because hes strong on the ball....so could run at defences

strong team but whos in the holding role?....putting lampard, gerrard or wilshere there is taking alot from their game...and none play it naturally

Wilshere or Gerrard, Gerrard hasn't got the legs he once had and already for Liverpool is sitting a lot deeper. It still plays to his remaining strenghts; a fantastic passing range, commited tackler and a good long range shot.

Wilshere has done it for Arsenal too quite well, probably better than Song if you ask me.
