I laugh at that. The only thing showing is the atheists' lack of logic...and it keeps growing with every post.:thumbup

Please show me any logic when it comes to believing in god...

I would love to have a logical fact filled debate about the existence of a deity.
But it will NEVER happen because science cannot prove that something does not exist. And a LOGICAL debate can never occur when words like "faith" and "belief" are part of it.

I was wondering the same thing...

I also find it funny that most theists believe that being atheist = belief.
Why do I need to believe anything? If I don't believe in god, why do they think my belief automatically shifts to something else like science?
How I feel about science has nothing to do with my lack of belief in religion/god. The two are completely unrelated.
I have no beliefs/faiths when it comes to religion/god... that's what makes me an atheist

Wouldn't that make you agnostic? I always thought Atheism is deciding for a fact that there is no god; shutting the door to the possibility.

Maybe I'm atheist lol.

  1. Strong Theist: I do not question the existence of God, I KNOW he exists.
  2. De-facto Theist: I cannot know for certain but I strongly believe in God and I live my life on the assumption that he is there.
  3. Weak Theist: I am very uncertain, but I am inclined to believe in God.
  4. Pure Agnostic: God’s existence and non-existence are exactly equiprobable.
  5. Weak Atheist: I do not know whether God exists but I’m inclined to be skeptical.
  6. De-facto Atheist: I cannot know for certain but I think God is very improbable and I live my life under the assumption that he is not there.
  7. Strong Atheist: I am 100% sure that there is no God.
I would put myself under number 6

I'm also a 6, with the added "I think we can know, but I do not know, and I don't think humans know to this point". Hehe

No it is not a belief. You just don't understand, do you.

You either you can believe their is a god, or you can abstain from that belief. I do not believe there is no god, I just don't share your belief.
You are creating a false dichotomy. There are three possible options as I have shown.

You need to look up the definition of belief. Its synonoms are words like "opinion" and "position". Which is what you are taking. You haven't abstained. You took a position. If I were to ask if you believed in God, you would say no. That is not abstaining. That's a vote for no. Abstention would be refusing to take a position on the question or saying you don't know.

Again, please read this

It will show you why not believing in something is not a belief

I'm of the belief a lack of a belief in a god is a belief. What I do not agree with, and the point I was making in my post Tim replied to, is when theists claim atheism is a religion, or claim atheists really do believe in god, but won't accept it.

Have you honestly ever taken a logic or philosphy class? You are using words without knowledge Look up somebody like Godel's proof for God. You wouldn't know how to make heads or tails out of it, much less refute it. Some of the best logicians ever believed in God. You don't know what logic is. You probably heard the term off hand and watered down by somebody like Richard Dawkins. Science has nothing to do with logic. Logic is not empirical. You can make a totally logically consistent/sound argument for unicorns. It doesn't mean they exist. I'd estimate you have a minimum of five years hard studying to do before you should further comment on these topics. It is cringeworthy.
