Re: The Conservatives In Exile Club

No man listen,

These people in whatever the hell the name of the prison is were in there for no reason thanks to Bush. No reason at all. And they were tortured and killed.

How do you know they were there for no reason? You do realize that the detainees were identified Al Queda operatives....You do realize that there were hundreds of foiled terrorist plots due to interrogations..Right?

Like the planned bombing of a commercial airliner in London, planned bombing of a commercial airliner in L.A....I guess we should have just let those happen:24:

Get off the X-box and read an article or two...Jesus you and Tim need to joina book club:D

Re: The Conservatives In Exile Club

For the record, I have no qualms with perhaps releasing those that are proven to have no real ties to our enemies, but the ones that do are valuable to our cause.

This is just another step in proving that Obama has no interest in our security, only pandering to the socialist movement.

Re: The Conservatives In Exile Club

A little humor. This was posted in another forum. This is coming from a 60+ year old man.

Obamamaniacs at their best :D
I have cried today, out of relief, out of jubilation, and out of hope. We, as a nation have made it clear we intend to move forward, to evolve, to embrace our differences, and work toward a common goal of survival, correction, and then a new ascendancy as a society. At least, that is the way I read it. To see that sea of faces, so full of emotion, elation, hope was truly inspiring to me.

I'd like to ring the neck of the naysayers, their ugliness, their cruelty, but I recall the reactions here when Clinton won, it was truly ugly. So this will be a storm we must weather, and hopefully, as we move forward, there will be some who have their eyes opened, who embrace a new world order, one based upon a belief in inclusion, rather than exclusion. An attitude that "Yes We Can". I hope that 4 years from now we're all able to be smiling at what O has been able to accomplish with our support, and complicity.

Obama asks lawmakers to back stimulus bill - Yahoo! News

On a key vote Thursday, Democrats preserved a tax break for this year and 2010 that would mean $500 for many workers and $1,000 for millions of couples, including those whose earnings are so low that they pay no federal income tax. They also voted down a Republican effort to eliminate a health insurance subsidy for laid-off workers.

And the liberals have the nerve to say they are not socialists.
what they fuck else do you call this kind of redistribution of wealth to give up to $1k to those that did not pay any taxes. what a joke

Your worried about some poor people getting $1k when they paid little or no taxes? Your right, I would feel much better giving it to those who don't need it. Let's make sure that none of these poor slobs get one fucking red cent when we can be helping wall street meet those million dollar bonuses... do you have any idea how hard it is to pay those bonuses in this economy? Must be hell on them

you guys always bring in the wealthy and the cheats and ignore the obvious.

This is paying people to live here. They contributed nothing, zero, nada. All they have to do is breath and they get money they have no rights to. This is not about letting the rich pay less taxes it is about people who contributed nothing being given money

Why not just fucking give all your wages to the govt and then let them dole back what they feel like. Get over the charade and just confiscate it all.

You liberals are loony

How about this Tim, flat taxation straight across the board, everyone. Then nobody gets a fucking dime in "here we aplogize for people being wealthy" money.

Class warfare needs to end, envy isn't the way to govern

I agree with that 100% Class warfare does need to stop... just remember that those with the money make the rules, so who do you think benefits most?

And at what level do YOU consider wealthy? Because I have heard some crazy ideas about that line.

I never sat down and figured that out. I'm not even sure how you could come up with a fair cut-off. There are way too many variable that are unknown to me. But I would include the 170,000 individuals who reported over $1million in taxable income to be amongst them.

See that's my issue too Tim. Tat's why flat taxation makes so much sense....I mean who says where that line is fair:dunno

So I say, let's find a percentage where we all can survive without being choked by taxes, and call it good, maybe even a caviat for a NORMAL annual or bi-annual increase, and the fucking government will just have to learn to live onthe budget, like the rest of us do.

And we need to finally put an end to overseas banking, it's only fair that taxes be paid on the monies being banked in overseas accounts, that's a priviledge established for the very wealthy only, so either you and I should have access to it, or it needs to go away.

See, I'm not a total right brainwashee:D

Re: The Conservatives In Exile Club

I have always found the argument of lowering taxes on the top 2% will increase jobs and prosperity for the country to be without basis or example since the historical data never jives with that assertion. The years of greatest prosperity in this country (1940's-1960's) were the ones where the top 2% were paying 90% of their income in taxes. Not the 25% they pay today.
Where do we see any evidence that when the rich keep their money they create jobs?

I'm talking about a flat tax, basically....A way to keep the government on their toes, they really need to streamline the US Government, or it won't matter how much and how many get taxed...

So I say flat tax, cut back on some of the NON essential government entities like the IRS etc.. and get to spending tax dollars wisely.

If I have to make cutbacks, Uncle Sam should feel the same pain

Re: The Conservatives In Exile Club

And I agree with streamlining government and I REALLY hope Obama addresses that like he said he would. I am watching intensely to see if government grows it's spending or shrinks it... I do understand the need for this stimulus to go through, because I'm sure if McCain was elected he would also have needed to do it. So we kind of need to look past that for now, while keeping a close eye on how effective it is at jump starting the economy... but I would like to see a major reduction in wasteful spending.

As far as a flat tax... I have been up and down with that over the years. I'm not sure how fair it would be to low income earners. If a flat tax of 15% were implemented across the board, it would basically be a pay cut for them of 15% and I'm not sure many families would survive that cut. And on the other end of the spectrum, the rich would receive a 10% increase in pay... so once again it would be penalizing the poor and rewarding the wealthy, and for what?
Would you remove all deductions and tax credits with this flat tax? Would families with children be paying the same rate as a single person?

I keep falling back to believing in basic deductions and a progressive tax rate. And removing ALL other loop holes, tax shelters and ways out for those who can afford high priced accountants with creative ideas.
The entire tax code should fit into a 3 page pamphlet.

I don't see it that way Tim....I see it as now your middle class, and poorer won't be paying along the lines of 20+%.

And frankly, it eliminates loopholes when you think about it, progressive rates get way too technical. Keep it simple is the way to go.

Legitimate deductions for business operating expenses should be as follows: Vital to the life of the business (i.e. buying new machinery, hiring more staff, updating environmental equipment etc)

Flying to Tahiti to bang your secretary...No, and that's what the remining IRS folks need to be doing, chasing down fradulent business leads, cause no doubt, that's where the fleecing is happening, we are carrying bigger burdens because companies don't want to pay taxes.

There should be NO tax shelter, no tax exemptions overseas etc. If you own a company here, and you have a plant overseas, or a bank account overseas, you pay taxes...period.

Families should get a tax credit for children and taxes paid on their homes.

I'm with you, the whole code shoud fit nicely in a pamphlet so we can do away with thousands of tax attorneys....And by mean do away with..I mean taken out and shot:D

screw the flat tax

consumption tax. with a few things that would be left untaxed such as houses, cars, food and medicine

the wealthy buy more so they would pay more which should keep the liberals happy.

but at least on has a say in how much they will be taxed rather than to just set arbitrary tax scales.

and how about a god damn amendment to prohibit spending more than comes in. Give the country one year to get this sorted and then the next year the only amount of money that can be spent was what came in the year before.

How would you figure a consumption tax to work? The less you make, the larger percentage of your paycheck goes to consumable goods. Do you really think that someone that's making over a million a year is going to be spending most of it? Of course not, he will be stock piling it away. But take a family that makes $40k a year and the vast majority of it will be spent that same year, if not all of it. And with every purchase they make, they will be paying into the system once again.
