no way

She will be headed to TV ;)

The media destroyed her chances for the presidency.

Everything thing she did they nitpicked and went overboard on.

She has charisma and has been in tv before so it is a logical choice.

Who would want to put up with the bull shit she had to endure regardless of whether one agrees she was incompetent.

Things like claiming she is not the mother of the youngest child and that it was the daughters. That is how far things have degenerated and the liberal side of the media put the pedal to the metal when they had the opportunity.

And wives should not always be off target. If one acts like Hillary Clinton did then they are fair game when they want to jump into the fray
Elizabeth Hasselbeck could use a little right-wing help on the View :D

She's made it very difficult for herself if she intends on running in 2012. She didn't complete her term. Any Republican running in a primary will seize upon her quitting and demand, rightfully so, a full and complete explanation. Why? Because she didn't give one today.

I'm not sure since I see that as her only option now. I don't know how she could successfully run for another office.
I think you all are misreading her comments if you listened to her.

She mentioned making a difference.

You can label her anything you like but she is not stupid.

She will get a talk show on prime time like Hannity or Oreily. IMO

She said she could "affect change from the outside". Huh? Holding political office is the best way to effect change. A vote, the power to veto or sign a bill is power.

Maybe she wants to be the next Rush?

Having a show on cable in Prime Time 5 days a week might constitute effecting change ;)

Tell me what power and change she has been able to exert as gov. of Alaska ??;)

All that got her was mocking her ambitions.

She was made for TV.

If I am wrong I will admit it.

But I would bet 20,000 tokenz for anybody who wants to bet me and the bet is 2-1 odds. my 1 against their 2 if they are that confident. :D

I'm not going to defend Palin's record. She did manage to do hold the position marginally well. She just was not meant for higher office.

I agree, she was made for TV. She is much too thin skinned to be a politician.

She's a real hottie when she wears those glasses and anything red. It's enough to make old men wanna start humpin' again.

Not saying I agree with this logic, but...

I think she's going to use her resignation as a way of saying "I'm still an outsider." All her talk about not wanting to be a lame duck was positioning herself to be able to say "the Dems would have held me hostage and not allowed anything to be accomplished for the remainder of my term - so I stepped out of the way for the good of my party and my State." Will people buy it? Dunno. But I'd bet that's how she's going to spin it.

You guys hate Obama. She will get all the support despite her lack of intellectual capability. ( don't mean to insult her). She has the charisma though.

I wouldn't. She gave up. Plain and simple. In a race for the presidency, that strategy would be lethal. A Democrat need only say that she stepped aside rather than fight, is that how she would handle Ahmajinedad? Putin? Medvedev? Osama? Isn't that appeasement?

In all fairness, you clearly don't like her to begin with, so of course you couldn't see it that way. She certainly wouldn't win over any of those who already think badly of her. But elections aren't really won in this country by swaying voters in the middle, they're won by firing up the most passionate partisans. And Palin may be capable of doing that at some point.

There are many comments at that site but this is the most realistic one:

Top 5 Reasons Sarah Palin resigned:
1. She's replacing Michael Jackson on his comback World Tour.
2. She can do more good as the new host of America's Got Talent.
3. Last week she contracted Swine Flu on an undisclosed trip to Argentina.
4. She signed a 5 year contract to be the new point guard for the LA Sparks.
5. One word....Diprivan.javascript:void(0)

nope

he was still a senator

although one could say that in effect he and McCain did little in the way of work as senators from Jan to the election last year

Bob Dole did resign though when he ran against Clinton. Really that should be required. They spend all their time on the campaign trail and do little work in DC.

On the other hand maybe we should make all of congress run for president and have to resign. We would be far better off with there being nobody running the country.

are you implying that she quit because of the media?

That is part of what she implied in her press conference. Darn, I was hoping to see Palin 2012. ;) There must be something else. No matter, being a quitter is just another of the many strikes against her if she still has Presidential ambitions.
