that anyone has found documentation for anyway... there wasn't an internet as we know it today back in 1991, and seeing as how I can barely remember it even happening, other people just might not remember. For all we know it was the exact same thing, we just didn't hear about it then because news travelled a lot differently 18 years ago than it does now.

The uproar is that everyone....Well a lot of folks are already tired of seeing him every five minutes on TV, smirking and looking down on us all. Why does he think that what he has to say is so important that he needs to interrupt school time to say it?He's a pompass ass. And because I pay school taxes, I have a right to determine what happens during the school day

Nothing wrong at all with an inspirational speech by a President to school children. The problem was when school boards declared it "mandatory" and instructed parents there would be no excused absences or "opting out". And the questionaire sent home.
Those are the differences from previous Presidents' school-day visits.
And that's why people got pissed.

That's really not the issue. And again, Bush, Obama, Clinton wgaf? Peter putting a smirk after every one of his comments doesn't take away from the idiocy of him wanting to do it to begin with. He's an elitist socialist prick. Besides, our school district refused to play it. So really we didn't have a choice anyways.

Ah, the evil socalism again! :rolleyes: Can you please explain to me what is so socialist about telling kids to study in school which will make them think collective farming ect is the way to go? Admit it, you just dont like Obama and will critisize anything he does regardless.
