viscious circle tho.
the police cant do the job and get justice for victims,so they become corrupt to actually try to do it.then people like boxer have to deal with all the shit.you can see hows its all got to the pearshaped situation.

thank god weve got dna testing now,and the courage to release wrongly accused people it would be too easy to just pretend all was ok.

Why is it we spend all this money on keeping all this scum on death row. Why cant it be like an assembly line. First stop jail. Second stop court. Third stop execution. Not a hard concept. Saves millions of dollars a year.

Fuck this... AEF has already been through this with me. I'm not getting back into the same arguement with him about it, because well, Donnie, Chris, Ryan... he'll never look at your point of view on it. He's against the death penalty. I'd just give up on trying to beat some sense into his brain if I were you guys.

If you kill somebody in cold blooded murder... You should be killed back... All the "coming to terms with your crime" shit is good and all and a few may actually repent but why did they do it in the first place?

I wouldn't say it's about sense, it's just a different viewpoint. AEF has been putting his point across very intelligently. But I know what you mean, this debate has been done before and I seriously doubt anyone is going to change anyone elses mind here, I just enjoy a good debate.:)

This is close to EXACTLY how I feel about the situation....

I have seen inmates come in hard-assed criminals and leave gentle as lambs. Have they TRUELY repented their ways? Maybe. But in prison all you have is time, and you can think on what you've done. If they come out better and changed people, GREAT! I've had inmates thank me for being hard on them, saying that it's helped them realize that they can be better when their time is done. But I just don't think that because a person has realized the viciousness of their crimes and made an effort to be a better person that should alleviate them from punishment.

The only thing that they need to be protected from in there is being killed or raped by other inmates, and that's what I am there for. As far as all this other crap, appeal after appeal after appeal while on Death Row, STUPID! If you've killed someone, you deserve to die, if you've raped or molested a child YOU DESERVE TO DIE! Simple as that. Keeping these people around is doing nothing but bleeding taxpayers dry while the inmate sits on Death Row laughing at the fact that he knows he's never getting executed thank to all the people out there that cry and bitch about how inhumane the Death Penalty is.
thats another thing, they treat inmates better than law abiding citizens. Free medical & free food while we have homeless & people in our society doing good things that need help.

This is a debate that I find hard to debate effectively because I get so emotional about it....you've commented on my no-nonsense ways in debating, but I think I'm starting to show my ass on this one, so maybe I should just step away from it....

If a person has truly repented of a crime, especially a serious one, the guilt and shame they will experience for the rest of their life is a pretty huge punishment in its self, I'm not saying its anywhere near as hard as what their victim went through but it's pretty big all the same.

I understandtheir point of view, and I understand WHY they think this way.

so you're ok with murdering someone back for murder, as long as you don't do it, as long as someone else makes you feel "safe".

Okay let me try this from a different angle....

AEF, how would YOU punish these criminals then if not by the Death Penalty?
