Utter nonsense. News organisations are under tight deadlines to get their stories out. It was probably a simple matter of publishing whatever pictures they could access in the available time. I'm not saying that the way that the press conducts itself is particularly great, or that their attention to detail is always brilliant, but I think that anyone who got fired was guilty of no more than sloppy work practices, and that other journalists have gotten away with far lower standards on less contentious cases.

That would have been a great suggestion for NBC before they started telling lies. They did the right thing in the end by firing those responsible though. Putting up a photo showing Martin younger than he actually was definitely was decieving.

I was glad to see NBC clean house. Those responsible for telling lies don't belong in journalism.

It kind of sounds like, here are people in this thread who think Zimmerman is being railroaded. He is getting his day in court exactly like he should be. Based on the evidence, there is no other reasonable way to approach this situation.

Just somebody making money off this tragedy like Trayvon's mother who trademarked his name to make some cash. How any parent would have the presence of mind to do something so low after losing a child is unbelievable.

The didnt take him to the hospital because they wanted to question him....not pay tens of thousands of dollars for cat scans tests stitches set his nose etc and a couple days in the hospital.

A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.

Also today, a trove of documents are being examined by lawyers for both the defense and prosecution as part of discovery in Zimmerman's trial -- including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman's questioning by police.

Zimmerman's three-page medical report is included in those documents that the defense could use as evidence.

Trayvon Martin suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. I'd say that Zimmerman came out of the altercation better than Martin did. Neither individual would have suffered a single injury had Zimmerman left Martin the fuck alone and let the police do their job. Oh, I'm sorry... I know you don't like to hear that.

It has also been shown Martin was shot at very close range, as in during the struggle. Zimmerman getting out of his SUV does not make him guilty of murder. Neither does following someone. A neighborhood watch person is supposed to observe and report. If they do follow someone they are to do so from a safe distance. That doesn't make Zimmerman a murderer either. People have every right to defend themselves if they are attacked.

Please detail exactly how the facts back Zimmerman's claims... because that's about the biggest lie I've heard come out of one of your many mouths thus far.

In Florida a homicide case can be thrown out by a judge before trial because the defendant successfully invokes self-defense. The burden is on the prosecution to disprove the claim in order to bring charges, rather than do so in the trial.

A big problem for the prosecution is that the 911 call ended at about 7:05pm. Martin wasn't shot until about 7:25. He could have walked the entire neighborhood in that time. What was Martin doing for those 20 minutes if not tracking down Zimmerman?
