Well, here...any payment you get from the Government for not working is some form of welfare, yes.

It's EBT...IJS. ;) And as far as Social Security goes, you have to work and pay in to Social Security...not the same thing.

Well, I get Supplemental Security Income. Not the retirement type.
 
I have to admit, we have a lot of clients on disability for depression...I have worse depression than a number of these people and I would never dream of trying to avoid work because I feel like shit. That's just me, though, it's different for everyone, and I know depression can get extremely debilitating.

My only worry was when my mom was applying for it. The woman is nearly dead, and if SHE didn't get accepted and this girl (age 20, mild depression, just has no motivated) gets it, I was going to kill someone. Luckily she did.

You want any type of job, Pee in the jar weekly..

If you have any medical reason to take a medication you are exempt, otherwise too bad so sad.. Same for alcohol..

You see I don't care because I don't do drugs nor do I drink..

The problem is as soon as you start to target one group for one reason when you omit everyone else you have a problem..

Why are our leaders that wield so much power not required to pee in the jar weekly and tested by an independent lab. We all know many judges and politicians often do this crap.. Cut out the hogs and those who are two faced and claim "this is evil" while they do it themselves. If it's evil, you should not be doing it..

Not that I haven't ever been biased but that thinking is unfair as you do not consume alcohol... I'm all good with illegal drug testing.

If I can be drug tested before I get a job then I don't see anything wrong with being tested before getting on assistance. If you truly are trying to be a good parent and just need that extra help to get by then that's great. If you'd rather worry about your drugs before making sure your kids are fed then you are not a good parent...IJS!
