4 year college degrees and clear backgrounds are almost the only way to get a good job in the us

That depends on the industry that you're in... at least as far as the college degree goes. There are plenty of jobs out there for people that don't have degrees... or that don't have a clear background (or both). Hell, I think I know more unemployed or underemployed people that have a degree than people that don't have one (or simply have a two year degree) and are employed.

Luckily for me, I went to college and earned a degree that will never put me out of work.

Didn't you say you were in computers? You honestly think that you'll never be out of work due to your degree? Wow, you really are delusional, aren't you?

I never said that college educated people aren't dealing with unemployment, I'm saying that with the degree I have I will not have to worry being that the unemployment rate with my skills and education is currently at 0.9%.

I will not back down from that statement and when you get Tim's dick out of your mouth, we can continue.

Don't take your frustration out on me with asinine insults, what you said was incredibly stupid.

Care to back that statement up with some facts and statistics? Or is that a number that you just pulled out of your ass?

shhhhhh :ninja

I assume that this goes for illegal substances. If its legal why the fuck should it be an issue?

well, it's kinda like what I said...it really doesn't matter WHAT these people are consuming as much as the NECESSITY. I have a problem with people who play the system in such a way, that they're living so much better than those who don't qualify for welfare. Unfortunately, when it comes to drugs (I believe alcohol should be included in this as well), people have addictions and are simply not always capable of stopping. Because of this, statistically, a lot of drug addicts and alcoholics lose their money, among other things. They then resort to the government, and my tax dollars, to support their habit.

This being said, whether someone is buying alcohol, or heroine, I am NOT okay with that.

I still haven't heard a sensible answer as to why people who are temporarily not working are bad parents and how you think you can realistically force someone not to have children.

Who?

China thinks they can force people not to have children. It is possible, it could be required in a 100 years when humanity breeding like bacteria puts us on the brink. But as far as welfare in the U.S., the program is voluntary. It would be very easy to say that birth control is required to be on welfare and pregnancy disqualifies you. Back in the days of permanent welfare status, popping out kids to get more pay was a bad setup encouraging welfare mothers to have more kids. I'm just telling you how easy it would be. The context that I argue "no new kids" when on welfare is based on long term dependance.

Why not? If we ever become over populated or limited in food and water or other natural resources, don't you think something would have to be done in order to survive?
I never expected you to support the Chinese model of societal management.

I am with you on this

if they qualify just as long as they use their benefits wisely and not take advantage of the system, then it's okay. It makes a big difference esp if one has as you mentioned living a better life than those who can't avail of welfare and to add to that- have addictions like drugs and alcohol.

I have seen lots of patients on this esp when i used to work in a County Hospital. They live on welfare and are being subsidized too by medicaid. A lot of them are drug users and alcoholics. One patient frequented the hospital given he's addicted to injectable morphine and have his upper arms swollen and infected regularly. Full of pus, he'll come out into ER to have it drained out. In a few months he's back again.

On the other hand, we have staffs who have worked many years who have tried to retire. BUT they had to go back working as they can't avail of welfare and have very limited coverage with medicare. Despite being old and weak, they have to sacrifice working full time just so they can have better medical benefits. I think anyone can see some unfairness there.

Yeah, I do. Don't be jealous.

That wasn't an insult, that was just a statement, or opinion, like yours.

I'll PM you the number of a recruiter of largest recruiting company in the US and he'll fill you in if you're that hard up to know.

I never expected you to support the Chinese model of societal management.
Oh, the perfect world we live in. Never take anything I say seriously on the internet folks.

Which part of that did you not understand? I don't know anywhere where it is sitting all neat and tidy for you to read, but if you can't take the word from someone in the industry that would absolutely know this information, then I don't know how to help you conspiracy theorist.
