I agree...He provided "the truth" :thumbup
There were three victims of the teacher rather than two as originally thought.

The bill was written because of the occurrence stated in the article...so the same wouldn't happen again
If you want to exclude the exception then kids cant wear a cross..a purple shirt..a confederate flag belt buckle...the list is endless.
Is that want we want?
Of course not this is America where speech and expression are still protected.

Its not a "right to bully"

Its a protection to prevent being bullied for your belief.

If one says he believes in Jesus then he wont be considered a bully for the statement

Wearing a cross would be fine. What you couldn't do is wear a t-shirt that said "Christians suck." It would be fine to wear your t-shirt to a Christians suck rally. Christian children don't have to go to the rally. But they do need to go to school. They should find a safe environment at school where they can apply themselves to learning without being insulted.

Thats why its added in the bill..so you can wear your cross...without it you would be considered a bully to non believers.
I have pasted up the entire bill..it is very tough on bullies.
There are no freedoms to bully written within it.
The fuss is over a few words that ...if one reads the section however it states it wont violate the constitution .
In others words..."Here is our tough bill...its a tough as we can get it and stay within the constitution"

Here is the section

(8) This section does not abridge the rights under the First

Amendment of the constitution of the United States or under article

I of the state constitution of 1963 of a school employee, school

volunteer, pupil, or a pupil's parent or guardian. This section

does not prohibit a statement of a sincerely held religious belief

or moral conviction of a school employee, school volunteer, pupil,

or a pupil's parent or guardian.

As we can see if has a total different meaning when we read the entire section

Saying you're a Christian is not bullying anyone. Telling a Christian, homosexual, or Jew he is evil is bullying. Telling someone she is ugly is bullying. It doesn't matter how deeply you believe it. You shouldn't say it at school. Really you shouldn't say it anywhere. But assholes will be assholes, just not at school.

Bullying should not be tolerated for any reason. If you're going to allow religiously motivated bad behavior then you're going to be allowing a hell of a lot of bad behavior.

I am just now hearing this was dropped! Apparently there will no longer be an exception to bully in the name of religious and moral beliefs in the legislation. :)

That's great. So now the bullies can't beat someone's arse in the name of Jesus. I wonder how long it would have taken for them to figure that one out?

I agree that saying your christian isnt being a bully morally speaking.
But without what was added in section 8 a person wont be able to say...I dont believe in Christianity...See where that is going.
It has to be all or nothing to be able to apply its self correctly.
Now without freedom of expression by a person telling me they are christian can be taken as being a bully...as religious or moral beliefs cant be expressed.
Thus why it has to be added...as to be clear to stay within the constitution..
If we go back the article of the bully teacher...he wore a purple shirt in support of gays..but made a student remove a confederate flag belt buckle...In doing such he was suspended for violating the students constitutional rights.
Do we really want to tell children they cant wear a belt buckle with a confederate flag?

Note...A student stated that his religion didnt support gays and thus was the reason for being kicked out of class

As stated prior this is what allows a Jehovah witness to leave a class during a party..their religion doesnt support them.

Are you wanting to prevent a Jehovah witness from saying I cant attend the birthday party due to my religion?..Its the same thing.
Or an atheist from the freedom to exclude god in the pledge of allegiance?
Should a child be forced to participate in gay support when it is against his religion or beliefs?...{this is what caused all the fuss by the way}

They never could....nor would they be able to with the included words in the bill.

Have you read the bill?

I suspect not or you wouldnt have made that statement.
The bill states that you will not be persecuted for stating your religious belief on a matter.

Should an atheist be required to say the word God in the pledge of allegiance?

So I ask you people that are in not in support of freedom of religion...{those that wish for the words to be removed from the bill}
Why is it ok to force a child against his religion?

Where is any child being "forced against" their religion?

Let me break it down to all the liberal fanatic here.
They read the articles about the teacher being a bully.
They state that is why..."the words should be removed from the section"{based upon the occurrence with the teacher}
Its THOSE WORDS THAT PREVENT it from happening again in the future.

And that is why with all the cultures and diversity in my kids school there is a zero tolerance on bullying of any kind.. Actually I believe it applies to the whole area..
