Homophobia

Really? How so?

homosexuality makes them feel uncomfortable because they don't like the effect it has on them? I don't know, it's a complex issue. One thing I noticed from living over there was the difference between guys in the US and guys in the UK. When I was back in London, my friends and I would end our Friday and Saturday nights out with a bunch of bro-hugs. I noticed that this didn't happen with the guy friends I made in Canada or the US. In fact, even on the day I left, there wasn't much bro-love going around. Just a firm handshake.

I think men in north America are very concerned about being "real" men, whatever than means. To them it means beer, women and definitely no cock.

I agree with that, men are very protective of their space and I know the looks I get when I do hug male friends of mine. they are the first one to back off. good points Edzo!

So "real men" are afraid that people will think that they are gay if they give bro hugz? And what's wrong with being gay?

cheers PJ. It's a shame I think, there's nothing quite like a good bro hug. Especially after a kickass night on the town.

Yeah I guess. I really don't know. Perhaps they're afraid to explore that side of themselves, they might be afraid that there might be some twitching in their trousers? I honestly don't know. But it's a commonly held belief that homophobia comes from deep and buried homosexual feelings.

So far I'm getting a lot out of this so I wouldn't consider it a useless thread.

Threads are like sewers. What you get out of them depends on what you put into them.

Homophobia doesnt exist and America is openly gay
