I love how Christians and Atheists waste valuable time arguing about something neither of them have actual proof of, when they could just be living their everyday lives doing something much more meaningful.

Indeed.

I used to come into religious debate threads quite often when I first got here just to tell people that religion is personal and if you believe, great, if you don't, great, just don't be a jackass and live with as much positivity and good will as possible.

But it never works.

Edit: And I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to talk about religion, it's just that arguing is shit and we have more pressing matters to get pissy about.

I don't see how anything could be more pressing than how each of you will spend the rest of eternity... but w/e. :)

lol, but instead of ARGUING with other people and their beliefs, why not just live your own life and try to deal with the problems we face right now. That's what I meant. It shouldn't matter to you if Joe Shimmy Shammy doesn't believe in God, or vice versa.

I'm pretty sure God wouldn't give a shit or encourage people to get into the intense arguments that people get into.

If you believe this universe build up without a POWER, it ll be your problem.

Do you now how the universe built up, where are the scientific laws coming from, what ll happen after death, where were you before you were borned ?

What are your answers ? But religion can give answers all of this type questions ...

:24::24::24:

Nobody can prove how the universe was created. Religion gives one theory how the universe was created, as does science. However they are THEORIES, not fact. One day we may find out the true answer. Until then I'm not going to act like I know the answer, because I don't.

Same thing goes for death. Nobody knows what happens after death.

That's why people disagree on these topics.

So I can't care about other people then?

And I see nothing intense about any of the religion arguments here... at least I'm not getting intense. It's just a friendly debate. :)

It's a matter of faith and belief. Some believe there is a god some do not...and because we do not have the answers both are right in that belief for themselves. I cannot stand one side or the other saying the other is wrong. Don't force your belief system on me in some attempt at hiding behind a how you spend the afterlife argument, and likewise don't get your panties in a bunch if someone wants to say God bless you.

The most interesting commentary I heard on the subject was in my social psych class way back in college...we were discussing Renee Descartes who felt he proved the existence of God simply because he conceived of his own existence and therefore conceives of God's existence so therefore God must be. Well if that is true, God would need man to be able to exist...for how can a God exist if there is no one to conceive of him? In other words, man created God.

i think the biggest problem is what ll happen after death ... who can give answer to this question ? we are in a game and solution are wanted. we must solve this problem before we die.

we must not live as nothing ll happen after death. we must try to find the answer what ll happen after death. if we say nothing will happen after death, it means we close our eyes. we must solve the "live" problem. what is live and why we are on earth and what will happen after death ?

Personally I think we just die. Our bodies cease to work properly and we die.

However, I can't say that IS what happens, it's just what I believe.

I've always been fascinated in the whole, we must know what happens when we die, and this whole meaning of life question. Man fears what he does not know.

On a side note, we already know the meaning of life........42 :D

Why is that pressing? There's fuck all you can do about it so why worry?
No, there's a good deal I can do about it. If I get others to believe in Jesus and God and all that, then they go to heaven instead of hell. So, I make it a goal to do so whenever I can - I'd hate to see anyone go to hell because I didn't talk to them when I had the opportunity.

What about if your wrong and god gets really pissed at you for trying to mislead people? Personally, I dont want anything to do with someone who wants to burn people for all eternity anyway. If god is as good and great as religious people make out, I'm pretty sure he'd just be happy enough with me just trying to do what I think is right. *Shrugs*:dunno

How can one go to a place they don't believe? As I said, it's a matter of faith...one isn't particularly right over another.
Just because you don't believe in gravity doesn't mean it doesn't exist for you, or that you are beyond it's rules.

God cannot look on sin. The only way he can be in personal communion with us (in heaven) is if we are cleansed of sin by Jesus. When people choose to not believe in Him, and do not accept the gift of Jesus, He sends them to hell because they are still sinful, and he cannot be with them, because he cannot be with sin. All it takes is one sin and you are just as much of a sinner as a serial killer in God's eyes (though a serial killer would have more earthly consequences and less heavenly treasures than someone who was not, obviously).

That is the major difference between Christianity and any other religion - salvation is not based on works. In every other religion, you must chant or bow down or be a good person or do this or that to be saved, but in Christianity, all you must do to be saved is believe. Good works store up treasures in heaven for yourself, but they are not the key to salvation. :)

yes, nobody can say about after death. but in history, some person named prophet said that there is another world after death. we are in an exam here and if you kill, steal, etc. you will be punished. when we search about prophets we see that they are true person and never lie before.

by this way, i wonder what will happen after death and the answer is realy important for me, and i find good answers from prophets. i also search about them and about holly books. they are all logical for me. and i couldnt any other answer. many people also couldnt find any answer, but they say "there is nothing after death".

Rofl peter, he obviously doesnt speak English well so dont be mean :p

Y'know, I've always been a good fan of reincarnation.

I don't know why.

It kinda just seems logical to me that you don't just stop, nor do you go to some reward or punishment.

I just think we keep living different lives.

However, I believe that these lives are not connected in any way and you cant remember them.

Just seems the lesser of three evils.
