Ok, what is this shit coming down? Hasn't the "god: believe it or not" theme been done to death? Before starting a new, redundant thread why not read through the ones already started?

Strauss is correct: one is not required to prove a negative and you should be bloody glad of it! Imagine being arrested and coming up before a judge, and having that judge demand "Prove you didn't do it or you're going to jail for a very long time, stuck in a tiny cell with some Neanderthal named Bubba that insists you learn to dance- his way."

If you had even a modicum of intelligence and schooling concering logic and debate you would never have asked such dumb-ass questions. Before making such intellectually naieve assertations why not take some high-school courses in the above and learn a thing or two about the world.

Now stop wasting my time! I am in the middle of a discussion about the nature of the mythos and logos, installing a third OS on my computer, engaging in a chess match and about to prepare supper.

"Prove god doesn't exist." For fuck sakes! How many times do you want to reinvent the wheel?

I feel it would be easier for me to believe in God if he repped me from time to time
Haha, DEFINITELY. :D

I think studying the world around us is proof enough that there is a God. I mean, nature is amazing, incredible, and so finely tuned that I have no idea how anyone can say with a straight face it was created by random forces. To each his own, but personally, studying the intricate ways the human body or a leaf are put together and work is proof that God exists.

i may not be the best christian, but sometimes even i doubt the "creation theory." I mean, words in a book as proof? Who wrote the book? Men. Thousands of years from now, will someone find a printed copy of Resident Evil and take that as proof that zombies ruled the earth? Just a thought... just dont know.:horse

Can you prove that there is no God? How would the world get started, space, matter, everything. Even this "Big Bang" you speak of, wouldn't someone have to start it off? Wouldn't someone have to make it, or wouldnt it have to start somehow? Wouldn't someone have to do it?

That someone is God.

Can you prove there IS a God?

And not all Atheists believe in Science, like me, I find both science and religion ridiculous. My point of view is that we're here whether we like it or not, so why not just enjoy life?

Wouldn't someone had to have started God off?

Under the belief that God has always been there, you'd logically believe he was just bored and decided to create us. And that sounds SO likely.

2. Not tech enough.

every year it is worse in this county... i read on the news that atheists are suing a county courthouse somewhere to remove an image of a manger and to put up a sign for atheism, and some other group is suing other places to call it a christmas tree, not a "holiday tree" b/s bullshit_flag.jpg

I am an atheist and I live a happy, fulfilling life. I'm actually more at peace with myself now that I don't believe in God. Now when I do something I just do it without thinking if it will or will not please the eye in the sky.

Should I help that guy put that table in his car? Sure. Why? Because he needs help and it's my job too (stockman at Walmart).

Should I cuss up a storm with my friends? Sure. Why? It brings me and them happiness.

In the first example, if I still believed in God, I would first see if it would please God, and then think about the man's happiness. However why should I put the well-being of a non-provable being over the well-being of a man, who I can see exists right in front of me.

In the second example, why should I worry, once again, if this invisible being disproves of the profanities that come forth from my mouth, when it brings me and my friends happiness. I'm not going to put my happiness second to this so-called powerful being.

For me, when I became an atheist, it was as a weight was lifted off my chest. I can base my decisions on how I want them, and not how some invisible being wants them.

I'm rambling now......

That was exactly me!

I went to youth group and stuff and there was pressure on all the Godly stuff.

When I've gone "Fuck it, I dont care anymore" a MASSSIVVVEEEE weight was lifted. And I can now look at the stuff I got at youth group and laugh at it. =]

If you believe this universe build up without a POWER, it ll be your problem.

Do you now how the universe built up, where are the scientific laws coming from, what ll happen after death, where were you before you were borned ?

What are your answers ? But religion can give answers all of this type questions ...

I love how Christians and Atheists waste valuable time arguing about something neither of them have actual proof of, when they could just be living their everyday lives doing something much more meaningful.

if you have a good answer for after death, you can live meaningful. if you dont know what ll happen after you die, and you think that you live meaningful, i think you are making mistake.
