God's Will—Our Hiding Place
"For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock."1

In her bestseller book, The Hiding Place, Corrie Ten Boom tells of the tense times in Holland during the German invasion. One night when there was bombing and shelling happening all around the house where she and her sister lived, Corrie couldn't sleep. Hearing her sister in the kitchen, she decided to go down and join her.

Long into the night after all the bombing ceased and all was silent, Corrie returned to her bed only to find that her pillow—right where her head lay—had been pierced with a sizable piece of sharp metal shrapnel from an exploding bomb! Going downstairs to the kitchen saved her life!

She rushed to tell her sister saying, "Betsie, if I hadn't heard you in the kitchen . . . ." To this her saintly sister interrupted, "Don't say it, Corrie. There are no ifs in God's world. The center of his will is our safety."

Later through terrible trying times in a Nazi prison, Miss Ten Boom was to learn over and over this marvelous truth: "God's will is our hiding place."

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, I don't ask that you deliver me from the storms of life, but please help me to find deliverance in them. Hide me in the hollow of your hand, and in the shelter of your tabernacle, and set me high upon a rock. Gratefully in Jesus' name. Amen."

1. Psalm 27:5 (NIV).

Has your science found a cure for Death??

People were borne and died when science was still in its cradle!

your logic is so bizarre as to be unintelligible!

What exactly is your point here?

Science explains these things. And we know that people being born and dying has nothing to do with a creator, but complex biological processes.

So this one person was saved... yet 6 million people were killed and God didn't decide to intervene?

It's pure coincidence - for every 1 person that avoided a shell, thousands didn't.

If you understand simple English, my question is Can science create matter?? No, therefore it is no match for God or religion! Science is like comparing a page of book to all the libraries in the world!!

Science still can't tell when and where you will die???

Why would God intervene when their fate was determined that way?? Death is inevitable and no eternal regrets over the pre-destined death of one man or the massive holocaust!

Where did I say I don't believe in science?? I only deny its supremacy over religion or Creator the God!

When you said YOUR science.

And science cannot be greater than religion because it's not comparable. Science is not a religion or philosophy so you cannot compare the two. It would be like saying a stone is superior to a tree...

Science doesn't claim to! Science explains.

Can your religion explain how the Earth was formed 4.54 billion years ago?

You see, you use God as an explanation for things you do not understand. You don't understand how the Earth was formed, so it must be God.

Whereas we know that isn't true. Our planet formed from the dust cloud of an exploded star, with matter brought together by gravity and electromagnetism.

My religion says there is no cure for Death, simple enough and a concrete answer. Talk about YOUR science...

If you've been reading my posts then you'll see I have in fact been talking about science the entire time. Perhaps there is no cure for death, but if we relied on religion instead of science then we would still be dying of smallpox and malaria, and amputating limbs because we wouldn't know how to save them. Many more women would die in childbirth and many more women would not have children at all because the scientific discoveries that have aided fertility would not exist.

Religion has done absolutely nothing for the health of humanity. I doubt you could me one example of religion finding a cure for a disease, or developing technology that saves peoples lives. All the while religion has been standing still, science has been finding new ways to increase our lifespan.

If you understand simple English, my question is Can science create matter?? No, therefore it is no match for God or religion! Science is like comparing a page of book to all the libraries in the world!!

Science is not supposed to be a match for religion. You don't 'believe' in scientific fact, it just is. It doesn't require faith. Science doesn't ask you to believe in anything that it can't give you proof for.

Science still can't tell when and where you will die???

I don't see your point. Are you saying that science is no good because it isn't instantly able to tell us absolutely everything? The whole point of science is that it evolves and grows over time as we discover more and more about the world around us. Right now we can't predict when someone will die. But in 100 years, we may well be able to. We might have slowed aging to an even greater degree. There is talk that one day, we will be able to elude death entirely. Science is always moving forwards. Religion has one answer to everything, no proof for that answer, and refuses to concede that it might be wrong. That's not progress.

Porn isn't about love or humanism, porn is about lust and desire which is as far as you can get from love and humanism...

I agree with this but all this would help a little if nukes would begin to shower every now and then!
Is this the progress you're talking about???? Enlarge the life span and end it with one hit!! aha!

Science is not supposed to be a match for religion. You don't 'believe' in scientific fact, it just is. It doesn't require faith. Science doesn't ask you to believe in anything that it can't give you proof for.

Who told you who your father or mother were when you were born?? Why did you believe others???
Why do parents love their children and vice versa...am referring to altruism?? Why do we love?? Why do we think differently?? Where do thoughts vanish after death?? How does your science account for these???

Science wouldn't be there without faith....as it is faith which gives you the strength to indulge in search and inquiry....

wishful thinking!!

Science is always moving forwards. Religion has one answer to everything, no proof

Martin Luther proved the progress in religious thought, didn't he??

I don't say science is no good. It has its pros and cons just like religions.

Well, then wait for 100 years until the whole world is destroyed due to probable WW!!! or IV!!! You are just trying to fool yerself and make fool of others by such vague conjectures and surmises!

If there were any doubts as to who my parents are, science has developed DNA testing which could determine whether we were related or not. Religion is not capable of such a thing.

Why do parents love their children and vice versa...am referring to altruism?? Why do we love?? Why do we think differently?? Where do thoughts vanish after death?? How does your science account for these???

Actually, science can give biological and psychological explanations for emotions like love. We're also not the only animals that display affection for our relatives, so that's got nothing to do with being human.

Science does not claim to know everything. Religion is the only are of study that claims to have an answer to all the mysteries of life, whereas scientists explore what we think we know and are constantly finding out that actually, there's a lot more out there to discover than we ever realised.

Science wouldn't be there without faith....as it is faith which gives you the strength to indulge in search and inquiry....

You're confusing faith with curiousity.
