Probably because that is bullshit. I've had first had experience of prison and in over 7 months inside never met anyone there who was openly gay and that included a lot of lifers and people serving lengthy sentences. Don't believe every stereotype you hear. ;)

Of course they aren't openly gay. They prefer to ambush their prey in the shithouse with their little lookout buddies watching the halls.

It goes againt the gender-roles, religious values, and cultural values i had during my up bringing.

Your in Europe. You guys have much more supervision. The United States has more incarcerated people then any other country in the world. Our prisons are overcrowded; yours arent. Im sure everywhere you went you were supervised so homosexual acts couldent occur.

So no reasonable grounds whatsoever.

You assume wrong but I'm not suprised seeing that is the entire basis of your argument

Ah another completely false stereotype, how typical. ;) I showered every day in prison and saw no sexual activity whatsoever. Seeing as I was 21 the first time I was in prison, given the stereotype, you'd have though I would be a prime candidate to be someones bitch but never experienced any of that sort of stuff whatsoever.

Im pretty drunk so ill reply to the complex shit tommorow. But dude, you were locked up in england. Your prisons are so much easier then ours. Your european prison is a summer vacation compared to the US prisons.

There are about 2,300,000 people in prison today Doc. By your stats, 21% = 483,000 guys raped in prison annually.

I still see no reason why anyone who is a legitimate "Gang member" in prison who is serving a legitimate life sentence for murder isn't put down like a dog, no matter what their race or creed is. The fact is there are some real bad people behind bars that don't give two craps about what their actions may have on others, and they will spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Just recently locally a 13 year old youth got off for taking a mentally challenged older man's eye out during a robbery. This isn't the first time this youth and his friends we're busted for violence against others, and they picked this one man out do to his mental capacity. I'm sorry he's only 13 years old, but you might as well save everyone the time and money and resources and put him 6' under before he gets older and does the same to someone else he wants to take something away from.

If Doc or any other homophobe can show me some convincing or at least reasonable answer as to why their views are right, I'll respect it. I haver no respect for peoples opinions which unfairly insult others.:thumbup

I have to wonder if that picture is actually took place under live conditions (kind of bulky under the garment, wondering if perhaps a fireproof suit?), what was the story when they went to the hospital?

False stereotype............ really now? I was cornered in the shitter by two of the bastards and their lookouts were stationed in the hall. Suffice to say I didn't take anything up the ass nor did they from me. You're not the only person on the planet that's spent some time in the slammer Peter and if you think sex between males in jail is a rarity then you live in a dream world.

Well, I never skied in my life, so I've to ask, what would you consider not "wimpy" going down a mountain covered with snow?:D
I was just kidding. I skied one time in my life and I hated it. I just thought it was appropriate to use the word wimpy in this thread. :D

The widely accepted, hell, even clinical definition of homophobia encompasses much more than irrational fear. Irrational fear can be part of it, but is not actually necessary to constitute homophobia. It's no longer in the same class as straight out phobias.

Of course not. Now it's become a social catchword that's warped it into something that means whatever the speaker wants it to mean ... meaning that it's meaningless.

It's as meaningful as white light is colorful.

(I'm feeling philosophical tonight ;))

Heterosexism may be a better word in a lot of people with issues about sexuality, but homophobia/institutionalized homophobia can be clearly seen in society, I mean...not sure how they could be meaningless, just because there may be some debate regarding it's exact definition.

I like heterosexism ... as a term, that is. It's precise & succinct.
"Homophobe" is as meaningless a term as "racist" or numerous such terms. Their constant use has reduced them all to simply mean "someone who disagrees with me on this subject."

No, it's classic false comparison. Phobia is irrational fear, not simply being irrational. The truth is bad enough. No need to embellish.

I think it's an irrational fear that homosexuality leads to pedophilia. But even if you're right, I'm not sure Doc would take much comfort that you think he's irrational instead of homophobic. ;)

Doc's a jackass. My point is that is does more harm than good to let rhetoric and hyperbole obscure the truth.
