2011 MLB Season thread

I look forward to every series.

I don't look forward to series where I'm pretty sure we're gonna get smashed. You guys are going in the right direction, and we're barely treading water. We came out of the Cardinals series down a game from where we started, and show absolutely no signs of being able to put anything together for longer than one game.

I understand where you are coming from. I'm used to watching the Giants blow it, I've come to accept that every series won't be full of W's. I still enjoy 99.9% of the games. YMMV.

I guess when you've been a Cubs fan for 24 of your 28 years on this earth, you start to get a big jaded after a while. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the games, I just hate it when I'm almost positive we're going to lose. I've been through so much heartbreak with this team in just this last decade, that I think it's starting to get to me. Four outs from the World Series in 2003, getting swept in the NLDS in both 2007 and 2008, corked bats, blown out arms, freak injuries, and it starts to get to you.

I was so excited that the Giants won it all last year, having grown up in California with them being my second favorite team. But damn was it ever bittersweet.

One of my best friends had a ticket to game six as well... so he was simultaneously ecstatic and a little sad when they won game five. :24:

That is the exact same way I felt. I was jumping up and down, and crying inside about my useless game six ticket. :24:

I'm gonna say we win tomorrow and Sunday, but you guys take Saturday. Demp is due for a win, and Z is looking really good, but God only knows what we're gonna get out of Doug Davis on Saturday.

We're apparently able to score runs every other game... 3-2 game for us going into the 7th, and then we scored 5 in the 7th to go up 8-2. But of course, I'm stuck at work just watching the ESPN GameCast intently.
