Real Football (Soccer to you Yanks) Thread

I have to laugh at Tottenham. Arsenal are down to 10 men, they have their main striker Adebayor stretchered off, and Spurs still can't beat them! Oh and Jermaine Jenas is crap.

Anyway, we just beat West Ham 1-0, good result, Giggs with the winner and it takes us back to the top of the league.

YAY

Soccer tragic here. Just waiting for the World CUp qualifier between Us Oz) and Japan starts.

We are leading the pool at the moment, but the Japs are hard to beat on home turf..

So....

GO SOCCEROOS:cheerleader:

Did alright against them in the World Cup.;) How do you fancy your chances of hosting the World Cup in a few years? Think you would do a good job and the enthusiasm's there. It's just the long distances to travel between grounds and the poor public transport system which worries me a bit about it.

It would be interesting to have it held here, but I worry about the influx of supporters, and you're right, the transport is abysmal.

Last nights game was BORING! 0-0 draw. A coupke of exciting moments, but they were few and far between

Liverpool supporter here. I also coach 2 womans/girls teams, and have been playing since 1977.

Holy Crap, thats 32 years now:eek

Good stuff there, you must see how rapidly the interest in football in Australia is growing? Seriously, fuck trying to inject effort into the USA, Australia is where it's going to be a big hit.

Anyway, although we lost tonight, I'm not too disapointed, it was only a friendly against arguably the best team in the world and there were some possitives to take out of it, in my probably biased view, the three West Ham lads.;):thumbup

Phew! That was a relief, good composure to come back from that, we live to fight another day. Bit gutting for your lot conceding the equaliser at the end after coming back from a goal down, Ian, but at least you get a second shot at it too.
