We were faced with two choices in this election. The better man won, I'm very happy now and will continue to be happy as long as the Obama Administration gets something good for the country accomplished.

This is not my happy face. I think we should just all bend over and get the ass raping over with. We are so fucked. Sadly, I'm a democrat and just couldn't vote for someone that has admitted to going to flag burning gatherings and won't wear the flag or stand up when the anthem is played, because he "Does not want it to look as if he is choosing sides. Um...did I miss something...I thought he was supposed to be on a side...like I don't know...AMERICA'S?

I haven't heard anything about flag burning, however what I can say about not wearing the flag or not standing up seems to be more of a subtle commentary for the state of the country at this time. We are in a hole, currently, and internationally-speaking are not a country that commands respect. America is full of potential but lately it has been going to waste.

The way I interpret his not wearing a flag etc. is him showing that currently, the state of the US is not something we should be proud of. He realizes there are many flaws and broken policies in our government, and he is not going to support that. I wouldn't either. I also believe that admitting there is a problem with something is a prerequisite for fixing it. If you think America is perfect, you have no incentive to make it better. However Obama realizes that it is imperfect, which is why I believe he will do the best to fix the country.

They can be happy for the US and themselves, it's not like it's some kind of dichotomy.

But I'm sure they are happy for themselves and the rest of the world. The global economic crisis falls on the shoulders of the US and it effects everybody. So yes, a president who is going to try his damned hardest to fix it, and a president they believe can fix it, is something to celebrate, because they don't want their country to not exist either.

That's not what they are happy about. The thing most countries despise about the US is their economic strength and their willingness to exert it to their advantage. Most of these people are socialists and the US economic system stands as a barrier to their own beliefs. There hope is that Obama weakens the US economy, not strengthens it. They are happy because they think Obama means their lives get better (or at least yours gets worse).

Bullshit!!! I have given this country 15 years of my life serving in the military, and plan on spending at least 10 more doing it. Because I believe in this country THAT MUCH. I have been through countless deployments, familily seperations, a divorce, now a new wife that has to go through the same. Yeah I have seen Clinton fuck up the military and the country, and yes GW has done damage too. I will also say the state of affairs is not what it should be either. But I say FUCK YOU! If you can't wear a simple fucking pin to show you actually care for your country, what does that say to US, who put A FUCKING UNIFORM on everyday to show we love our country. If your are not proud to be a GOD DAMN AMERICAN, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS COUNTRY.
