:homo:And look at how many people have been killed in that same time frame.
207 - Pit bull terrier
78 - Rottweiler
22 - Husky
19 - Wolf Hybrid
I had a Timber Wolf, Sheppard mix for 14 years. Grew up with my kids and was one of the most gentle dogs I've ever owned. Never once did she growl or even look cross at my kids.
When she had pups, she would only trust my daughter (6 at the time) to sit in the whelping box with the puppies when she went outside to go to the bathroom. For everyone else, she wouldn't leave the puppies while people were around.
She was the best dog I ever had, very very smart
but people breed animals for a lot of wrong reasons and I've heard this leads to medical issues with certain breeds.
And what are you basing this on? This is nothing more than misinformation and prejudice against the breed because of the big scary word "Wolf"
In the United states and Canada between September 1982 to December 26, 2011 Wolf hybrids attacked 84 people. During the same time period Rottweiler's attacked 481 people. There are 3 times as many Rottweiler's than Wolf hybrids so a fair comparison would be 252 to 481. So Rottweiler's attack people at more than 2 times the rate that Wolf hybrids do dog for dog...
So does that mean Rottweiler's should be stamped out?
believe it or not, over here rottis have a different temperament to most other places.....this all depends on the percentage of wolf present in the dog,and what the other breed was
Could be... *shrugs*I think you're referring to people over-breeding animals from the same bloodline (inbreeding), typically that happens with Pit Bulls.
