And what are you basing this on? This is nothing more than misinformation and prejudice against the breed because of the big scary word "Wolf"

In the United states and Canada between September 1982 to December 26, 2011 Wolf hybrids attacked 84 people. During the same time period Rottweiler's attacked 481 people. There are 3 times as many Rottweiler's than Wolf hybrids so a fair comparison would be 252 to 481. So Rottweiler's attack people at more than 2 times the rate that Wolf hybrids do dog for dog...

So does that mean Rottweiler's should be stamped out?

And look at how many people have been killed in that same time frame.

207 - Pit bull terrier
78 - Rottweiler
22 - Husky
19 - Wolf Hybrid

I had a Timber Wolf, Sheppard mix for 14 years. Grew up with my kids and was one of the most gentle dogs I've ever owned. Never once did she growl or even look cross at my kids.
When she had pups, she would only trust my daughter (6 at the time) to sit in the whelping box with the puppies when she went outside to go to the bathroom. For everyone else, she wouldn't leave the puppies while people were around.

She was the best dog I ever had, very very smart

I have owned one and I can tell you the only difference between them and a 'normal' dog or bitch is they are harder to house train as their instinct to pee on everything is a lot stronger. Plus you really have to KNOW how to look after a dog (wolf hybrid) or it will dominate you JUST like other dogs/bitches if you don't have the know how.

I have also been lucky to look after a pure wolf pup and the big scary that Tim is speaking of he is right, its pure ignorance and the statistics as he has presented to you prove that.

...now to see if i can find a pic of wolf who btw now lives on a farm as the families pet dog and guard for the chickens, sheep, cows...etc. OOOOOh really scary. We'd be better off to put all the ignorant ppl down than these beautiful animals.

awww, our wolf pop was a timber wolf...she was lovely and boy did it make your hair instinctively stand on end when she howled, but what a sweet animal she was.

Ours was 80% pure Sheppard and 20% Timber wolf. They consider that a very good mix here since Wolves tend to be shy...

She looked like a pure wolf with the light grey and black markings. She was a beautiful dog and got tons of compliments when we went out.
It was funny, she was very docile and people would love to pet her until we told them she was a wolf mix... then they would pull away in shock, lol

We had a wolf hybrid (not sure what mix or how much wolf) when I was growing up and she was a complete sweetheart. Not sure what the issue is as long as the person who has the hybrid is a responsible pet owner.

Besides that this is more akin to what a dog is supposed to be... I'm not knocking toy dogs and other breeds, but people breed animals for a lot of wrong reasons and I've heard this leads to medical issues with certain breeds.

I think you're referring to people over-breeding animals from the same bloodline (inbreeding), typically that happens with Pit Bulls.

believe it or not, over here rottis have a different temperament to most other places;).....this all depends on the percentage of wolf present in the dog,and what the other breed was

Incorrect... the only difference between the german rotti vs the USA rotti is in the morphology of the breed, it has nothing to do with temperament....and lets face it, temperment of a dog mostly depends on the human and how they train it and NOT in the dog.
