Hello West coast!

Thanks for the link but it's the same one I tried the other day. It is strange in that it completely removes screen resolution and freezes it at 800X600/16bit. I use add/remove software to kill it and went back to the native XP drivers.

I then dug through my piles of CD's and found the disc that came with the monitor. I let it auto install and voilá! I now have the proper aspect ratio of 1440X900. It also has cured the jerky screen. (Yeah, I know; every time I think "jerk" why does Wacor come to mind?)

I think that's it for now. I will worry about the TV drivers at a later date when I find some software for it.

You claim you don't want my tokenz but I am oblige to honour my offer so tell me what to do with them (and please be polite!)

Pissant !!! :D

Now you know where to shove them tokenz

Once he removes his head :yuk

You might want to save a few though for a while in case you have to PM somebody.
Not that anybody would accept it :fing27

I found a download for SP3 for XP. It is legit Windows and clean (I scanned it with my anti-virus app). I'm still running IR6, SP1 and won't upgrade unless it gives me grief.

My proprietary cordless keyboard and mouse was giving me trouble so I switched over to my older Logitech (which I like better anyway and has never given me any problems.)

So from here on in it's just a matter of installing software and doing some system tweaking, like killing services.

Happy days! :)

The only thing I wish I could do for him is get him Media centre to go along with the XP.... because of his TV card.

He doesn't need Media Center--that's actually a different OS. All he needs is some software. Usually those TV cards come with software--might want to check the website and see if there is a software download. Is it an ATI card? What kind of TV card is it?

OK.

I have no idea the specks on it.. I don't touch the his desktop unless I need to use the built in card readers.

He will probably post about it tonight when he gets home.

The only info I can find on the TV card is that Vista lists it as Vixs Pure TV-U 4899. The only web searches shows tech forums and people complaining that the Vista SP1 upgrade makes it crash - this is true! :mad

I didn't see any results that showed drivers, manufacturer's site or compatible software.

I have created all the partitions I want (7
sEm_blush2.gif
) on this drive. I have also dual-booted with Vista but will have to edit the XP boot file because it doesn't see the Vista install. I plan on now nuking the primary 250 GB drive and repartitioning it with XP.

Things are going well and this thread has served it's purpose, but it has been fun so I invite all of you to stick around and tell me what I should do with the Tokenz I offered. When I stated this thread I had 10,680, so that is the amount still up for debate.

I would like to thank the mouldy one from the great pear state for all his help. He has refused my offer of the tokenz but I bet he's doing it only for tax purposes!

Last major task completed: I have nuked the 250 gigger and created 3 logical drives on it including a large one for recorded TV.

I have one drive reserved for tokenz! ;)
