I find it humorous that the majority of posts in this thread entitled "Why do you believe in God" are authored by Atheists.

To many big words! :willy_nilly: I'm not an aethiest, I don't belive anything, I don't generally think much at all about what will happen after my death.

This world is full of chaos and destruction...would a God want that to happen? I highly doubt it...so he's not real. Christians believe he is a nice person and would never harm anyone no matter what. I believe that's crazy. The world is cruel, therefore it's run by the bad people living today...not ruled by a God.

Why do you believe in God anyway?
I answered that earlier in this thread somewhere; probably on page one or two if you are really interested you can go and look.

He's just an imaginary being. He's nothing special in this world.
If that is what you believe, that is your right to do so. Not everyone holds that same belief though.

Regardless, it is not something that needs to be argued over. You don't believe, others do. It is what it is.

Same here! A lot of people just can't get their head around the fact that you don't have to believe in something to discuss it. There is a radio programme here in Spain where people debate hypothetical situations. They don't believe that the situations are real but discuss them anyway. Debate keeps the mind active!

Okay, at times I come off as very ignorant towards Christians. I'm pretty close-minded, but I can debate intelligently if you give me something to discuss.

I think I've lost the desire to 'debate' to be honest with you. I have to do it on a constant basis everyday for school, for work, etc. ... it has lost it's luster for me.

It is like when you cook all day ... the last thing you want to do is come home and cook again.

Know what I mean?

But there are plenty of other folks here that like to argue, I mean debate, all the time. So you will not be hurting for folks to go back and forth with.

I read and throw a comment in here and there. I don't think my posts are all that 'exciting' though ... lol
