Why Do Conservatives Hate America?

So if conservatives supposedly hate America now because they disagree with Obama, does that mean that liberals hated America for disagreeing with Bush for 8 years?

The article has a completely flawed premise, and it really wasn't worth my time to read through it.

Seem to remember on here the Republicans were the ones banging on about how patriotic they were by supporting their president when Bush was in power. Doesn't that mean they are no longer patriotic seeing they want him to fail now? :dunno

Well I don't personally believe in either premise... my point in bringing that up was to point out the ridiculousness of the article and it's premise. I don't believe that you hate America for disagreeing with the President, nor do I believe that agreeing with the President makes you a "patriot". They're both completely asinine ways of looking at things.

OK, I know, it’s just some conservatives who’ve been exhibiting what they, in a different context, surely would describe as “Hanoi Jane” behavior. Others who haven’t taken leave of their political senses—and are familiar with the concept of manners—responded to President Barack Obama’s unexpected award with equanimity and even grace. Sen. John McCain, for example, offered his good-natured congratulations.

*shrugs*
Political threads are garbage.

I think disagreeing with the President dosen't make you unpatriotic. I think picking on him for every little thing, however tiny, and actually wanting him to fail is.
Ffs, some people on this forum were getting their knickers in a twist and were pissed off that their kids were losing out on their education because they were given 10 minutes off to hear their President, without pushing any political points, telling them to study hard in school. Someone else on here also said that if Obamas plan to sort out the economy succeeded, he would consider that a failure. :willy_nilly:

Yeah its called a difference of opinion on political policy. I hope Obama and his Democronies in Congress fail miserably in implementing their policy proposals because I feel the majority of those proposals are detrimental to our country.

Should I be hoping he succeeds in fucking the country up or what? :confused

I love how you are so narrow minded you cant see that there might even be a possibility that what he's doing wont be detrimental to the country and Obama might actually have some idea of what he's doing. :surrender

this thread is beyond stupid. retro said it himself. the idea that (insert name of group here) is american/unamerican because (insert their political view here) is pretty fucking dumb.

how about if i just call everyone doing that a moron? it would be factual at that point.

JFC now I can't even disagree on matters of policy with the admin without being narrow minded. As if I'm incapable of considering the logical implications of the policy proposals and making a judgement as to their merit.

I guess people shoulda just STFU when the retard in chief decided to send a few thousand soldiers to die in the hellhole in Iraq for no good reason too, because well, they know WTF they're doing? :thumbdown

I mean do you honestly just let your gov't do WTF ever they want based on the argument of "well they know what they're doing" ?

Quote from an article:
Mike Hedegus, a veteran TV correspondent took the opposite view. He said that the award would remind an America that is still highly parochial 'that the world is watching, does care, and that we share a responsibility beyond our borders.'
'So take my word for it, the fact that in large measure Barack Obama won the Nobel Prize because the world outside our own borders hopes, wants, and prays for his success internationally is a good thing, a very good thing.'

Thinking he's doing the wrong thing and making sweeping statements that it's definately going to be a failure are two completely different things. You're no fortune teller and neither am I. Yes, I was opposed to the war against Iraq but I still hoped that it would work out for the best.

Frankly I hope he does something to repair what is wrong. I just DO NOT want him to accomplish some of what he is pushing. There's a difference. I want all our leaders to succeed, just not with every idea they have. I find it amazing that we can bring up legitimate points for why we don't agree with him, and in some cases the most compelling argument that someone can come up with....Is look what Bush did :24: I didn't vote for that idiot EITHER time, so he wasn't my fault.

Why do you continually misrepresent what happened when you've been corrected several times? And you accuse others of being narrow-minded? Well, I guess the pot would know, eh?

It's not worth the risk.
