Then name the action that they gave him the prize for. Name a single action that he took in his first 11 days in office that are worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize.

That should be an easy thing to do since the actions that warrant a Nobel Peace Prize should be very significant...

Quote from an article:
Mike Hedegus, a veteran TV correspondent took the opposite view. He said that the award would remind an America that is still highly parochial 'that the world is watching, does care, and that we share a responsibility beyond our borders.'
'So take my word for it, the fact that in large measure Barack Obama won the Nobel Prize because the world outside our own borders hopes, wants, and prays for his success internationally is a good thing, a very good thing.'

I assume the above was the one you refer to?

That is out right asinine for them to vote based on that reasoning. It should be for an accomplishment and not wishful thinking.

They have rendered the prize as useless propaganda

They don't really hate their country, just who won the last election. It also means the conservatives are a big tub of opportunistic hypocrites not to imply they have the market totally cornered. During the Iraq war Republicans were all over Dems for being unpatriotic. However, in recent years all the way back to the 1960's, when Democrats were the majority, I don't remember them (the Democratic Party) pinging on conservatives for being unpatriotic when they disagreed on issues..

From the linked article:

Yes, someone explain it to me. There is no way to spin this into a reasonable view. It disgusts me.

No there's a more powerful card...The race card. And most don't have a problem with Obama the person, they have a problem with his policies....Not that he's actually done anything there either. I think Dems are still locked into this "Barack The Rockstar" mentality and are irritated that the rest of us would rather him get his hands dirty instead of being on TV every fifteen minutes with a mic in his hand addressing us. He needs to get his hands around Congress...Just sayin

The way I see it, the most important facets of conservatism are being fiscally responsible and providing a strong national defense. Neither one of those things are inherently anti-American, in fact I'd say they're both the complete opposite of anti-American. Therefore, true conservatives don't hate America. I'd consider anybody who advocates substantially increasing our defecit and debt and weakening our military to be blatantly anti-American.

Well said Donnie. From that point forward, all the other issues are simply belief systems, which are impossible to argue.

So basically you admit we're correct in our assessment that thus far he has done nothing to deserve a Nobel Prize.

Maybe next he can be awarded an Oscar and the Heisman trophy despite never acting in the movies or setting foot on the football field... :24:

The outside world can recognize and appreciate Obama's efforts far better unlike the home country cuz the Republicans are always at loggerheads with Obama for every damn thing.

I've yet hear you or anyone else from the "outside world" cite one example of an action, or even a CAUSE that BO supports that would have earned him a Nobel Peace Prize. NOT ONE.

I didn't borrow anything, and I watch almost NO political TV other than Sunday Morning.

And you STILL haven't/can't answer a very simple question.

Provide a source, otherwise it's just another meaningless anecdote. Then again, I'm pretty sure that's about all you're good for.

Take the lead of Republican Arnold Schwarzeneger (not a naturalized american though) who congratulated Obama for the award.
