Someone telling you that they would be 'all up in your business' isn't a compliment, it is an insult.

Some men don't know how to throw a compliment out there.... its basically his way of saying shes cute he likes her and if she weren't with her bf he would be hers kinda thing... thats what i got from it anyways

thats where Im saying youre wrong Grace. Its not about teenage children here or someones daughter. Why do you find it so wrong that another man may find you attractive when you are in a relationship? Do you suddenly become unattractive to all other men in the world when you are with someone? No, you dont. I think its nice to know that others find you attractive. Does this mean you need to act on it no it doesnt, but do you need to be rude and not say thank you I dont think so either. Thats all Im saying here. Yes maybe she could have chosen a better reply like Steve said but that doesnt mean compliments are not ok

He needs to be school'd. The guy says "ur lucky u have a boyfriend..and that i repect him....but if u didnt..id be all up in ur buisness" ---- well if he truly respected Silious he would not have said that crap to Silious's girlfriend period. On one hand he says he respects Silious and then he turns around and disrespects him with what comes out of mouth next. The guy (kid is more like it) is talking out of both sides of his mouth. And Silious's g/f either isn't a) mature enough to see that or b) her self worth is lacking (and this isn't meant as an insult to his girlfriend, as we are all at different stages of growing and maturing)

No, I'm not.

I don't find anything wrong with that. But the guy didn't say 'You look nice today'. He said that 'He'd be all up in her business'. We all know what 'up in her business' means.

Do you suddenly become unattractive to all other men in the world when you are with someone?
No one is talking about becoming unattractive. I don't know where you are getting this from.

Compliments are fine. I'm not disagreeing on that. I do not however find his comments complimentary at all. If they were he darn sure would not have had to give her a disclaimer about respecting her boyfriend before he told her he'd be 'up in her business'.

Oh get off you high horse Grace, your in danger of getting a nose bleed!
I have every right to state my opinion like anyone else here Peter. If you don't like it that is your problem. If it makes you feel better to write me off as someone on a 'high horse' as you put it - that's also your problem. But until you are going to start ragging on everyone else in this thread for stating their opinion maybe you might take a step off of YOUR high horse dear. ;)

Who says it a disclaimer? You! Who here didn't see that as a compliment? You! Putting people down just because you personally don't like the way they speak without even looking at the context is very judgemental. I think you're the one with a problem here, not her!

Haha! Don't make me laugh! This coming from a woman who's judging the whole situation in a way that she finds offensive while blinkering herself to how others seeing it and thinking this gives her a right to insult people shes never even spoken to! You really are something else!

Good Lord are you serious? IMO that is sad.

None of the teenagers we are around, which is a lot, talk that way.

I'm just not use to that and was under the impression that 'up in your business' meant exactly that ... 'up in your business'. :eek

:(

I have not insulted anyone. You are misunderstanding and/or misreading my posts Peter and getting worked up over nothing.

Comment withdrawn by myself because it was said in the heat of the moment and I don't want to lower myself to another persons level by attacking people in a high and mighty way because of their different moral beliefs.

What he said isn't always meant as sexual. Even though I would never say such a silly thing.
