You see, earthly animals in heaven is a touchy subject. Certain animals have intelligence and immotions which do constitue part of what a soul is, but they do not neccessarily posses an immortal spirit which lives on after death. This is justified with the fact that man was created superior to animals and to the fact that there is no salvation mentioned to animals. Animals are sinless, there are no rules for them. They do as they please, which is usually to survive. You see, originally it is Assumed adam and eve were vegetarians as there is no mention of them eating meat. It is not until after the flood that God gave Noah and his sons permission to eat animals. There are animals in heaven, but they do not stem from animals on earth.
