Well, since the CIA has admitted to the things I have described throughout the thread, its not some crack pot theory. Its real life.

They've admitted to torture. They havent admitted that Bush wants to secure his legacy and all the other shit you're just throwing out there. Maybe, and I know you'll never believe this, but maybe the man knows what it's gonna take to win this war.

The war on terror? This "war" you speak of is completely unwindable. You CANNOT kill an ideology with weapons. As long as we keep throwing our weight around the world, there's always going to be people that are really pissed off at us for doing so. We're self perpetuating warfare.

We can do plenty to make ourselves safe without invading countries. See, a lot of Americans see the only way to keep our country safe is to kick down doors and mow down people. This attitude only makes things worse and spawns more hate. What we need to do is completely overhaul our foreign policies and stop trying to be Earth's policemen.

Who said anything about isolationism? Just the opposite. We must work with THE WORLD COMMUNITY, yes it maybe be a shocker to some Americans but the world doesn't belong solely to us, and fight hate where is starts: At youth. We must make education and other ideas more readily accessible to countries in the middle east and make an effort to fight government censorship of those ideas in said countries. One of the many reasons why you see 7 year old Muslims carrying AK's with C4 strapped to their chests is because THEY ARE IGNORANT. They are ignorant of tolerance, other views, reason and logic and they are taught by the ignorant who whisper their fundamentalism into their gullible ears at a very early age. Education my freind, is the ultimate weapon against fundamentalism because fundamentalism works off of said ignorance and intolerance. Cut the head off the snake...and the rest dies with it.

I agree, to an extent. But no matter what we do, some people are gonna hate us. They hate us because of our freedom and out religious tolerance. Fighting that is just as difficult as a war on terror.

No they hate us because we're so damn involved in their countries. No terrorist gets up in the morning and thinks "wow, they sure are free I'm going to kill me an amurkin!" Notice that there practically was no Islamic terrorism until the west started to intrude upon the middle east. Where was the hate for our freedom then?
